I was hoping someone could provide a solution to dealing with Deep Striking Blood Angels.
I mainly play against my friends blood angels list that doesn't really change (doesn't need to, it always wins!) Its roughly as follows:

Dante with an axe (might be standard) and Sang guard and priest - They drop right on my face and either melt something with there pistols, unload in to my Centurion Devs or wipe my regular devs off the board. And on top of that Dante nurfs my HQ choice with his mask....really annoying.
2 lots of 10 man assault squads with power axe and 2 meltas per squad. One normally drops close to dante and his squad to get the fnp from the priest. Alternatively they'll drop on one of my tactical squads holding an objective and wipe me off it the following turn.
10 Tactical marines with plasma cannon and plasma gun. Normally stays in cover and doesn't do much other than firing the cannon from range. Mainly just sits on a rear objective.
6 Death Company. Cant really remember how they're outfitted but there's definitely at least one power fist in there.
Storm raven with lascannons and melta carrying 5 assault termies. It's not very often they get to do much, anything that poses a threat to him is usually already being or about to be assaulted.
5 Devs with 2 las and 2 missiles.
1 Attack bike with multimelta

I don't have an issue with any particular unit he brings, there's always something in my codex to counter it, it's just dealing with him deep striking on my face. I get one round of shooting at his 20 assault marines and sang guards/priest/dante before they jump pack into me with a bizillion attacks.
I use space marines and use the following list, which I'm really fond of from a fluff point of view, plus I really like the look of a lot of the actual models . Definitely not the most competitive list but like I say, I'm really looking for a tactic to use, not so much a new list.

Terminator captain with 2 TH (because he looks awesome) and 5 assault termies 4 TH/SS 1 lightning claws delivered in a storm raven with las and melta. it seems to be 50/50 whether or this squad takes out Dantes or not. IF they get to shoot me with their fusion pistols, hammer of wrath me and charge me, they some how come out on top. Not forgetting my captain has -A -W -I -WS before he even arrives on the board thanks to Dantes mask curse thingy.
Terminator chaplain (because the model looks cool) with teeth of terra chapter relic.
5 Stern guard with 2 grav guns, 2 combi meltas and a drop pod with locator beacon
5 vanguard vets with jump packs, 2 standard, 2 power sword and SS and 1 lighting claws
2x 10 man tactical squads, each with a missile launcher
Centurion devs with missiles and grav cannons
dev squad with 4 flak missiles

Most of the time I can take out his raven and watch It drop his surviving termies at the back of board, kill his bike and death company and tactical squad and dev squad, just to be wiped out by his assault units and dantes squad.

Any help would be appreciated,
thanks in advance.

where do your terminators go? I would have thought your centurions with grav's would chew threw his assault squads pretty easily. The thing here will mainly be deployment. Try and work on your deployment configuration and try and focus fire the biggest threats first. Since his SR and its cargo wont be on the board turn 1, that gives you atleast one turn with a pretty decent points advantage.

neither list looks very refined, so its going to come down to who uses the better tactics and a little lucky dice. Tactics will naturally vary by mission type, so aside from that just work on your target prioritization. I would probably try and take out the dante squad first, if it goes un attended that squad will do some damage when it closes.

that mask thing is a pain i forgot about that, i play BA's but never ran dante before. My biggest issue playing BA's was getting shot to pieces before I could close. So deploy where you put a lot of range in between you guys and make him come accross the board.

Shoot them when they come down. Spoiling assault them. Profit.

Sounds a lot like lists I used to run (the BA one).

It seems it comes down to the toys you have available, you are running a very small body count army. Vetern vanguard (over-kitted imo), sternguard, assault terminators and 2 HQ? Also flakk missles etc, if you trimmed the fat you could easily swing this list around to smash the BA one.

- What chapter tactics are you using?

- Some plasma in your list will do you much better then grav

- TH/SS should wipe sanguniary guard off the table easily every time. Swap out one of those TH off your captian (even if they look cool ) and give him a stormsheild of the eternal sheild. He should beat down dante pretty easy after that.

- Challenge dante with the sgt from the TH/SS guys, his str 8 hit will insta gib dante since he dosent have EW.

- Deploy in cover to negate melta, then counter charge to rob them of the FC benefit of the priests.

You could also reserve your centurians if it would protect them from the alpha strike. They could easily wipe out which ever squad you like when they walk on.

- What chapter tactics are you using?
- Oh yeah sorry, forgot to mention, I'm using Imperial Fists chapter tactics.
Thanks for the really good replies. I really like your idea Eldarain. I'll be keeping the centurions in reserve like you suggested. They normally cant hit anything on turn 1 with their grav guns anyway.
where do your terminators go? I would have thought your centurions with grav's would chew threw his assault squads pretty easily
- Termies go in my raven with captain and normally try to take out dante and his sang guard, also as they don't get shot down.
My centurions don't get to fire at his assault squads. Dante and his guard drop in with melta pistols and bolt pistols, followed normally by one of his assault squads dropping in and firing 2 melta guns and 8 more bolt pistols. Failing that, his raven would have a go. This combined with any hits they've already taken (from his devs etc) means they're dead before they get their turn to fire at them haha!
Spoiling assault them
So it's best to assault him and forgo shooting him?

Thanks again for your replies.
