So, used to play Space Marines, with the new codex release I'm considering getting back into them. I've been hashing out test lists for a few weeks in my head before settling on any purchases and just wanted to garner some community feedback on them beforehand. All are keyed to 1500pt friendly games with a bit of a competitive edge.

Black Templars
Spoiler:
HQ
Chapter Master
-Artificer, Primarch's Wrath

Troops
Crusader Squad x5
-Lascannon, Plasmagun, Razorback (TL Las or Las/Plas)

Crusader Squad x5
-Lascannon, Plasmagun, Razorback (TL Las or Las/Plas)

Crusader Squad x5
-Lascannon, Plasmagun, Razorback (TL Las or Las/Plas)

Crusader Squad x5
-Lascannon, Plasmagun, Razorback (TL Las or Las/Plas)

Elites
Sternguard x5

Fast Attack
Stormtalon
-Skyhammer

Stormtalon
-Skyhammer

Heavy Support
Thunderfire Cannon

Thunderfire Cannon

Fortifications
Aegis (naked)

Here the shooty Chapter Master hangs out with the Sternguard, Crusaders Squads and Lasbacks unleash fiery doom, Thunderfires join in, Stormtalons tackle air. Pretty straightforward. Weighs in at 1515, so probably lose a plasma somewhere.

Imperial Fists
Spoiler:
HQ
Chapter Master
-Artificer, Burning Blade, Shield Eternal

Troops
Tac Squad x10
-Plasmagun, Heavy Bolter, Vet. Sarge, combi-flamer, Rhino

Tac Squad x10
-Plasmagun, Heavy Bolter, Vet. Sarge, combi-flamer, Rhino

Heavy Support
Devastators x5
-4x Lascannon

Devastators x5
-4x Lascannon

Centurions x3
-Land Raider (Godhammer or Crusader) w/ Multi-Melta

Fortifications
Aegis (naked)

This one is an advancing list. Devs hang back behind the Aegis and hopefully kill a couple vehicles or MCs before getting swatted out. LR and Rhinos push to the midfield and squat there with the Chapter Master tanking shots for the Centurions and assaulting anything that comes too close (splitting off from said Centurions to do so). 1495 Points.

Salamanders
Spoiler:
HQ
Vulkan

Troops
Tactical Squad x10
-Melta, Multi-Melta, combi-flamer, Vet. Sarge, Drop Pod

Tactical Squad x10
-Melta, Multi-Melta, combi-flamer, Vet. Sarge, Drop Pod

Tactical Squad x10
-Melta, Multi-Melta, combi-flamer, Vet. Sarge, Drop Pod

Tactical Squad x5
-Melta, combi-flamer, Drop Pod

Elites
Sternguard x5
-2x Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod

Sternguard x5
-2x Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod

Sternguard x5
-2x Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod

Pretty straightforward, again. Drop four pods T1, the rest after. Vulkan rides with 5m Tac squad or a Sternguard, do the alpha strike dance. 1500 on the nose.

So that's them. I'll toss up a poll if I can figure out how to get some fast opinions, but do please drop some text on the matter as well. Need some critique before the purchasing begins.

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

Any comments? Anything at all? I see the votes, but let's see some text to back them up.

I'm a fan. The issue is, I'm a fan of Space Marines in general. If I had several hundred more dollars I'd buy everything I want to own, but alas, I cannot.

Battle Barge Impossible Fortress

Imperial Fists. After experiencing what their Chapter Tactics can do, I am under the impression that bolters+devastators=awesome.

For the record, I hate them.

The big decision I guess I'm making is whether to get a fleet of metuhl bawksez or some Stehl Rehn. I'm willing to hit both tactics up, but there needs to be somewhere to start. Also, of course, wanting to win.

Seems like the majority here favors the sons of Nocturne. Though here's a question - as opposed to the lists as written, what amendments would you make to improve them and way the vote?

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.
