Deadly Dark Eldar Warrior





So this is my first list at 1850 points. I want to try out wave serpents badly. So I opted out of the WraithKnight. Here's the list:

Dark Eldar

Duke Sliscus
Kabalite Trueborn: 2x Sharcarbines, 2x Spinter Cannon. (Wanted to make the most out of Sliscus's venom, not sure how this will work with the range differences)
Venom: 2x SC, NS

Kabalite Warriors x10: 1x SC
Raider: Splinter Racks, FF, NS, Grisly Trophies (This raider will most likely hangout in the back, where the Farseer can make us of the trophies)

Wyches x9: Razorflails, Haywire Grenades
Hekatrix: Venomblade
Raider: NS (This raider will most likely deep strike)

Haemonculus: Liquifier Gun, Venom Blade
Wracks x4
Venom: 2x SC, NS

Ravager x2: NS, FF (Might opt for disintegrators on one of them)

Eldar:

Farseer: SS

2 of the following unit:
DA x4
Exarch: Dire Sword
Wave Serpent: SC, Starcannons, Crystal Targeting Matrix, Holo-Fields

Vyper: SC, Scatter Laser (the only thing to burn awkward points, open to suggestions)


Like I said this is my first list on this point mark so I'm open to any suggestions.

The Twilight Zone

As your list currently stands, your farseer either has to hang out on foot, or sit in a wave serpent unable to cast powers most of the game. Neither is a great option. You can take alternative HQ's to roll in the serpents like a spiritseer or autarch, or get the farseer a jetbike and some friends like reavers or guardian jetbikes. Another option is the mantle of the laughing god and a jetbike.

The duke venom is a bit much, as your only looking at 14 poison shots a turn if you move, at different ranges. I would make the trueborn blaster born, or drop to 3 bodies 2 with cannons. Either way, move the duke to the kabbie raider for a very consistent 3+ poison shooting unit.

The wytches are decent since your running the duke and capitalizing on his abilities. I would give their raider a dissie cannon and flickerfields instead of(or in addition to) night shields. Deep striking means being somewhat close, so the night shields won't help a lot, but they still may be handy to stop rapid fire bolters from ruining your day.

The hamey unit is Ok as well. Consider an acothyst with a venom blade or something for Ld9 and more CC/challenge oomph.

Keep your ravagers with lances, your list has plenty of infantry killing power already.

At 5 bodies, the avenger squads won't live long enough to see an assault, and if they do your exarch can't save the day. Drop the exarch's and just run 5 man squads. The serpents do not need the crystal targeting matrix, and in general scatter lasers are better than starcannons.

Vypers are OK, but you could drop it amongst other things to unlock that wraithknight if you want, or overall boost your list in another direction.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Here's what I did:

The Farseer now has the jetbike and the mante of the laughing god.

The trueborn are now blasterborn and the duke rides with Kabbies. I have to admit he makes the kabbies put a fight with assaults.

The wyche raider now has both NS and FF and has a disintegrator cannon. There is now an acothyst with a venom blade.

The vypers, exarchs and the crystal targeting matrix are dropped. The WS now has scatter lasers.

I'm left with around 140 points. I'm thinking either running 6 reavers or warp spiders with an exarch. I find both of these units are really useful but I'm wondering if there's anything else I might want to consider.
