Probably to little to late, but still seems pretty cool:

12 v 12 dogfighting
Custom loadouts and markings
Different ship types

That actually sounds really cool. If they had had this at launch... well, no use dwelling on might have beens.

Mildly interesting. But I was planning to return there for a couple more months as I have yet to finish a few story arcs anyways, so I suppose this is another argument in favour of doing so.

I wonder how mouse control will handle in a free flight environment. It's okay enough in War Thunder, but the TOR dogfights seem to be much faster, requiring a lot more manouvering...

Im looking foward to having those cool fighters. I HATE hose Heavy fighters in the game the players use in the game. They are just so unpractical for military action.

For transporting people around, ya I guess that works. For anything else, feth that.

Ill try it out for sure and hope the best

Most of the ships you're flying are not actually "fighters" but rather freighters, assault shuttles, up-armed pleasure craft, etc.

This looks neat but is definitely late.

I'd planned on getting back into it for more story arcs, this'll give me more reason to do so.

What I wanted was pazaak and swoop racing.

It always annoyed me that there is what appears to be a pazaak table that glows as if it is useable in the very first Flashpoint on the Republic Side ("The Esseles") but if you try to use the table it just says "nope". Why is it there?

Design block that was started but never finished due to budget cuts, time constraints, or changes in plans?

You can find these in a lot of online games. Anyone remember those Scarlet ambassadors at the Chapel of Light's Hope in WoW? Shame they never did anything with them either.

The space combat in base TOR was...not impressive, so I'm not sure how much better this will be.

If they slapped on a reskin of TIE Fighter, I'd give 'em my left nut. Or at least start playing that game again. Never did finish my Sith Warrior (largely due to constantly swapping back and forth between identical Jugg/Marauder alts, thus doubling my leveling time).

Yeah, the space combat was really a huge letdown. And ugh, I can't imagine leveling the same class at the same time. It really makes me appreciate the Rift/Secret World model, where you never really need alts of the same class because each guy can do pretty much anything.

Matter of preferences - I'd rather have distinctively different classes that all come with their own content, than a game that is designed to offer no replayability at all because you're not supposed to play anything but your first character.
Both can be fun, but the former tends to offer you "more bang for the buck" if you happen to have multiple ideas in your head. In other words, you get to avoid repeating the same stuff again and again. Some games circumvent this issue by offering you multiple zones for the same level, but this is unfortunately not an industry standard. Champions Online is such a great game where you can go wild with character customisation and power selection, but it becomes a grind after you've run the same mission chain for the umpteenth time.

The only valid criticism on TOR's class system I could see is the inability to retroactively switch specialisation, since class specs share the same background, aesthetics, and story. But why exactly would you "need" to have, say, both a Juggernaut and a Marauder? I'm actually really curious regarding the reasons behind this now. Apart from a lack of character consistency (which irks the roleplayer in me) it just sounds like a selfmade problem - honestly, even if I'd be interested in both playstyles, I'd simply play one of them on the Republic side, and thus get to experience the Jedi story...

Actually, this was my original plan, but then I ended up playing the same spec on both sides. But hey, at least the stories and missions are notably different.

"TIE Fighter reskin" makes me think of space combat in SWG. Good times...

Wasn't sure which I'd like better for end game PVP, and could not stand - as in, actively hated - pretty much everything about the Jedi Knight, from story line and voice acting - God, do I hate the Knight's voice acting - to the companions and even the way the gear looks.

Okay, that is understandable - but why did you keep playing both? At some point, I'd have just dropped one of 'em, especially if you consider it a chore.

You're supposed to have fun playing the game, dude!

I'm rather satisfied with how my JediPadawan Sentinel turned out.
Spoiler:

The storyline is a bit meh (has some pretty cool climaxes though), but the Astromech companion is rather cute. <3

I largely played for PVP. I'd stick with one for about a week, and then its lack of utility (if Marauder) or its lack of ridiculous DPS (if Jugg) would annoy me and I'd switch back to the other.

Ahh.

PvP I do/did almost exclusively on my Agent (Sniper) and my Scoundrel (DMG/Healer hybrid). I have tried it with my Sith Warrior, if only to get that cool title from rank 20, but found it way too harsh for my unoptimised Marauder build - usually I'd be able to annoy some people, then quickly die as soon as more than one guy focuses on me.

Much more fun to assassinate targets from afar using a deadly sniper rifle. 8)

Marauder doesn't get much utility until later levels, such as the droid cc and stealth, but the early levels (1-30ish at least) are fairly boring, but they can put out crazy DPS if optimized, just not much else to them though. My DPS Guardian (and Juggernaut) both do very well in PvP. The highest valor rank I have is 56 on my Gunslinger.

I'll give the game another shot because of this feature. I played at launch and quit shortly after finishing the story mode in my first toon
