hey im an expierenced 40k player and would like to start a new army problem is what army should i do
also, i love doing themed armies so any suggestions would be great thanks in advance

Do an Alpha Legion CSM army. Make em closet loyalists, no daemons, mutations, etc.

might be cool but if i were to do csm i would probably do night lords or iron warriors (lords be ma fav)
but im not sure i dont wanna do orks, nid, or marines as those are the armies my friends collect so it might be a bit boring

Nurgle Demons with CSM Allies. Take a greater demon, a bunch of plaguebearers, and then HORDES of cultists painted as plague zombies.

You might not win any games, but - well painted it would look friggin' awesome.

well i love night lords but csm cant take jump packs as troop or bikes soo i would be forced to fill the fast attack slots
( i would do blood angels for a nl theme any hows)
iyaanden mmmmmmm not so sure. i love the wraiths but i dont want to collect them really

Speed Freakz is a decent list, and themed as well. Not sure about DE, never used them much

Go with a venom heavy DE list or a IH list

There are numerous ways to do Eldar (and some of them actually work fairly well).
Iyanden - Wraithseer (see Forgeworld), and some Spiritseers, Wraithguard, Wraithblades, Wraithlords and Wraithknights. You won't have much but once inside your kill zone...
Ulthwe - Farseers, Warlocks, Guardians, War Walkers, and Support Batteries. That's it. OK, maybe an Aspect unit or two, but not much else.
Biel-Tan - Autarchs, and Aspect heavy. Nothing but Aspect Warriors (Transports are allowed).
Saim-hann - Jetbikes and Skimmers. Everyone on a bike or riding in a skimmer. Very fast army.
Alaitoc - Ranger heavy. Throw in Illic for fluff reasons and take an Autarch with the Longrifle.

If you're going noise themed CSM, I have no idea really. Standard Slaaneshi cult with Noise Marines dotted about as much as you can I guess.

Maybe have a investigate the FW HH books see if there's some EC lists in there that can help.

CSM are awesome if you want to do a themed army. With all the bits from the new SM and raptor boxes its easy to make an army totally customized to you.

Plus DINOBOTS AND METALDRAGONS.

However if you want something competitive than I say stay away from CSM for the time being. CSM can be but its mostly nurgle and baledrakes that make it so.

I spent way too much many on Black Templar and Sallies and now that they are in the same book, I'm sad panda. But if I was to pick up another army in a few years, it'd be CSM with 4 heldrakes. I go balls to the walls on customization like I do for my Sallies. It seems like CSM is your playstyle or preference judging from the other responses.

Then again, if you like Noise Marines (that already ignore cover and AP3), Heldrakes might not be what you're looking for. But I love dem drakes, as cheesy as they are.

I personally think the Thousand Sons are the coolest themed army available. The books on them are amazing

ya my vote would be for thousand sons .... alot of cool modeling options (terminators come to mind) and the model range looks really good.

ap3 bolters + magic makes for interesting gameplay mechanics too

mass msu venom / ravagers with night shrouds / flickfields would look amazing on the table and be really fun to play also.
