I've been playing around with different Crisis heavy Tau lists from FarSun bombs with Tigurius to just pure Farsight Enclaves and I got the funny idea of combining the two lists.

I know, I know. I'm lame for bringing Farsight in the non-enclaves detachment. But what I lack in letter, I make up for in spirit. This is a total Mont'ka (killing blow for the non-super nerds) strategy.

The Fireblade+Firewarriors, x2 Plasma Crisis squads and Burst Crisis deploy; being cagey with LOS blocking terrain while the flamer+fusion crisis teams and Farsight and friends wait in reserve.

As much as I like a Farsun Bomb with Tiggy and Gate shenanigans, I have soooo many more crisis bodies in here than I would with a full bomb. And it's a total throwaway unit too. It comes in, does a load of damage, 2D6's around until it's dead, and then right around turn 5-6 when you're opponent's done chasing it down and finally wiping it, shouting "Slay the Warlord, I thought he'd never die!" You can smile deviously and point to your diminutive Fireblade hiding behind a stone wall, "Actually bro, for the greater good, this little punk is my warlord."

As for the rest of the list, I've been using flamer+fusion crisis as skirmishers to great success. You have to be aggressive with placement, and you do mishap sometimes, but they're so cheap.

I'm toying around with bringing this list to Daboyz GT due to their FOC restrictions.

Anyway, thoughts on this?

You might be able to get more suits in there if you take the weapons off.

I like the idea, but you have zero AA and no markerlights to snap shop to pretend to have AA. I' drop one squad and some chance to pick up a FE ECPA VT Riptides. I know it will costs you a few crisis suits, but it'll be much more effective. Dual Hellturkeys is with in the DaBoyz GT comp restrictions unless I'm mistaken.

40k is 100% Skill +/- 50% Luck

You're probabably right.

I also thought about subbing the fireblade out for a commander and letting him carry the Drone Controller and VRT. Then the drones become TL BS5 and it's a more durable platform for my hit&run+fleet. I'd give him target lock and a couple plasma rifles as well as the Talisman; which would help the bomb (and units w/in 12") with psychic defense.

It means sacrificing the idea of max crisis suits. And I lose a lot of fire power. I pick up a Heavy Burst Cannon and a SMS and 2 BS5 Plasma rifles, (and better drones), but lose12 Plasma and 6 normal Burst. And there's substantial cool factor lost. You can't discount that. BUT, you are right, 4 fliers is still legal, including double dragon. What do we think of this one?

I couldn't resist. This one has THIRTY XV-8/9's; more than list 1. As for AA, I have 10 TL fusion Blasters. Not great, but not defenseless either.

I appreciate that, exalted, but I've run that into the ground. I bring Tigurius too for a 75% shot at GOI. I think this list would be more fun. With weight of crisis bodies, I think it could still be competitive too; depending on how reserve rolls go.

This would e cool if it were legal. Farsight must take his named bodyguards when using the supplement version of him. That's why I didn't do it; thanks for the input tho

No he doesn't, he merely has to be warlord to take his commander team.
