I've been looking around for some nice tank trap models or some supplies I could use to easily make some.
wanted to get some ideas from anyone whose found some or made some already.

What style are you looking for? Assuming you're talking about 28mm, but are you looking for WWII? 40k?

"Dragon's Teeth" are probably the most common style and, luckily, are pretty simple to make (which also means there are numerous sellers, as they're just as simple to cast - can't give you any names, though). If you have access to extruded styrene insulation boards (the ubiquitous pink/blue foam used in making terrain), just cut out some cubes (rectangular prisms, really - they tend to look better slightly elongated, as they were historically shaped) and carve them into flat-topped pyramids. If you want to "40k them up," a bit of (plasti)card and rivets can be added over the top to make steel/ceramite/whatever plate cladding. Foam can also be chipped and gouged pretty easily if you want damaged ones.

If you lack good foam, you can also use beaded styrofoam covered in drywall filler. Pristine traps can also be made entirely with card using a simple pattern (I'm sure you could find papercraft versions to use as templates, if you didn't want to use the printed versions, directly). Regardless of what you use, build a few and attach them in a strip to a base of your chosen material (I'd use 1/8" MDF, personally, and just be careful to avoid warping the stuff). Single rows are a bit more flexible, in terms of storage and placement, but double or even triple rows look more plausible and can give infantry partial cover more reliably.

Another interesting style is the "Czech Hedgehog." These were used in WWII but don't look out of place in 40k (same as dragon teeth, really). These traps were bolted/welded together out of angle iron, meaning they're pretty easy to fabricate if you can get you hands on the same shape stock in styrene (both Plastruct and Evergreen make it) - there are tutorials for that online, if you're interested. Barring that, Tamiya sells a 1/35 battlefield accessory pack with them which supposedly doesn't look too out of scale. They're much more open than dragon's teeth, in terms of LoS, but they look cool and are easier to arrange in whatever pattern you choose, since they can be placed individually more readily.

this pretty much answers everything I needed thanks. yeah its for 40k but i was looking at WWII like traps cause like you said don't look out of place in the 40k universe. i was pondering a mix of both for variations in terrain, now i just need some time to actually get started on this.

I made some dragons teeth tank traps from plaster of paris poured into ice cube trays. When set, I used a wire brush to rough them up and an awl to chip out bullet holes and other damage.

The 3rd (I think?) edition 40k starter set came with a few tank traps of varying sizes, you could probably get them pretty cheap off the ebays.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

AKA Rommelspargel (Rommel's asparagus) Always makes me giggle like an idiot.
Pretty good idea though, You could use twigs as logs instead of sprue too if you'd prefer that look.

Those sprue tank traps look pretty rad.

I've been thinking about making some dragons teeth for Flames of War, Now I might need to make some Rommelspargel too.

First off I love the sprue hedgehogs. If you're looking for a tank trap like Dragon's Teeth, Secret Weapons make some great "gothic" dragon's teeth.
