playing a game in a while, 4000pts.

what im wondering:

would it be better for necrons to:

A: take a fortress of redemption, kit it out and bunker up with some teleporting counter attack?
B: forget the FOR and go double monolith
C: drop the double c'tan and take both the FOR and the double monolith?"

alright: my list general list is:

essentially, the warriors castle up (either with the FOR or between the monoliths, and are supported by the ghost arks. wich in turn is supported by the spiders and the stalker. each warrior squad gets a court lord and a lancetek. the immortals are joined by either zandrekh or the overlords, and also by a veil tek. obyron joins a 3rd court consisting of 4 stormteks. the deslord goes with the wraiths. plan is to advance with the wraiths and praetorians backed by the c'tan, while my firebase holds ground, and then counter attack, or support my assault wing with the teleporting immortals.

pretty much the expendable part of the list is my c'tan, (i could run none or one) a pair of monoliths, or the fortress with full upgrades. (essentially im trying to work out roughly 400pts of "options" one thing - i do own a 3rd flier model. so i could maybe find a way to squash in a doom/nightscythe to make 3 fliers on the list, thats awsome. i am expecting to face a pretty heavy flier list from the marines. the player owns a few stormravens and aparently just aquired about 3-5 storm talons. (with a dual force org i might even try to sneak in an aegis line on top of the fortress if it fits)


finally, is my assault element (wraiths+dlord, 2x ctan, 5 praetorians) going to do much, or would it get shot to pieces? i would like to have something on hand to deal with 2+ armor, and the praetorians offer that pretty reliably, but i could always hold them back and charge or move up when said 2+ stuff gets close, and shelve the wraiths+dlord.

at 4k points....drop both overlords, you aren't using them for anything.
I'd add annihilation barges with the saved points.
Barring that, drop a C'tan, and add a monolith, and then beef up your troops. Maybe grab an ADL

the overlords are there because i need 3 courts. 1 court is my "vehicle begone" squad (obyron +4 stormteks) the others get split up to allow veilteks, lanceteks, and res orbs to be spread around, primarilly across the warriors. they are kept cheap, essentially only taking an orb, and maybe a phase shifter.
