ISW-69F SCOUT SHIP

Illyrian Ship Works is renowned for excellence in both design and efficiency. The ISW-69F is no exception. It sets the new standard for classic design with modern performance.



The Scout Ship Miniature Kit is a 1/48 scale multi-part model pressure cast in high grade urethane resin for easy assembly. It is sized to be compatible with most 28-35mm miniatures for tabletop battle games and RPGs. It has been modeled in ZBrush and printed using the highest resolution 3D printing process currently available for tabletop miniatures. The kit may be upgraded with several accessory packs available through the Kickstarter project as well as a set of crew figures.

The model can be built in either a "gear down" configuration or "gear up" for use with the acrylic flight stand. The landing struts are being modeled to beef them up a little more and will be sent to mold for metal casting to provide a sturdy support.



The parts have been shipped to be mastered and we are raising funds to complete production and packaging.

THE REWARDS

You can donate additional amounts beyond the listed backer levels and choose rewards from the Add-ons list. At any time while the project is active, you can edit your pledge amount with the total you want to contribute. At the close of the pledge drive, we will send a survey for you to select rewards from your total pledge amount.

You can include as many Add-on items as you want at ANY pledge level. However, you need to back at the BOLDLY GO level or higher to be eligible for free stretch goal rewards. As stretch goals are reached, we will be adding more items to the BOLDLY GO level and above, increasing the value of those levels at absolutely no additional cost to you.









CREW REWARD CHOICES

Once the project reaches its initial funding goal, we plan to offer a selection of crews to choose from to man your ship. These alternate crews will be unlocked through stretch goals, and you may select one of them instead of Skip and Smap for your ship if you wish.

Risks and challenges

Bombshell Miniatures has successfully completed and fulfilled two Kickstarter projects during its first year. We have striven to deliver high quality work in a reasonable amount of time and it is our goal to continue to do so. Like our most recent project, the Maelee Special Edition Set, we've produced all the components for this project in advance which means we can start production immediately once funding is assured and get everything shipped out in a timely fashion. Once again we will be working with our production partner Valiant Miniatures. Their attention to detail, high quality of work, and on-time delivery has definitely lived up to our expectations. We feel confident Valiant's work will continue to be exceptional and reliable. Also, since they are domestic we don't anticipate any delays due to shipping issues.

Blast Off!

Thank you all for being patient as we approached lift off. I can't begin to type the amount of sculpting, modeling, cyphering, and Photoshopping that has been going on the past two months, particularly this past week. One day alone I pulled a 24 hour work day, so I am glad to get this off the ground.

As for the inspiration of our ship design and crew models offered, yes, they are all inspired by COUNTERBLAST. Since this will be a tabletop battle game, the scout ship would make an ideal piece of scenery or objective marker for many of the scenarios we have planned. Plus it may be entirely suitable as a squadron for many other battle games where fliers are involved. The setting is under the premise that Earth made first contact with Illyrians at the end of WWII and has now joined the Galactic Council of Worlds during the mid to late '50s. All of our offered crew will be perfectly suitable for use in the upcoming game, but that release will feature all new models.

We felt that running this one under the gun was a better option for the creators and backers so it is only a 10-day stretch.

Here is a larger pic of our first offered crew. Skip Westmoreland and his Illyrian buddy Smap. I originally designed the Smap character for a Stop-Motion Animation Project in high school that I worked on with, now local Dallas KEOM DJ, Chris Frazee who supplied the voice-over on the project video. It's pretty cool to see these guys finally realized in this way thirty years later. The Macbot is a trusty Maintenance and Custodian Bot that is assigned aboard many ships to handle cleaning and service duites.

There was a Thunderbirds-esque kit that was designed to be retro-looking in about 1/200 scale that was huge, and good looking. If I could get an even larger version of that, that would be great.

As it is, this ship is too small.

There's doesn't seem to be an option to buy just the crew , though.

Unlike the Babes™ project, I will not be posting concept art for the goals. Many of you who have backed our previous projects or have purchased the models in our online store know that the 3D printer we use has the highest resolution and offers state-of-the-art output.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

There have been a number of comments on other forums and in the private messages regarding the expense of International shipping. We will discuss the shipping rates and post our findings on a future update.

NEW MODELS

It has been pretty quiet over the weekend. Not just here, but it seems across the interwebs in general. To give the project a little shot in the arm, because you asked for them, we have filled out the ADD-ONs section with select Counterblast teams. They are now available as a straight Add-On pieces to any backer level for an additional pledge amount. This will allow backers to include them with their other pledge rewards and save on shipping.



I am working on another Lancer crew of Wanda Whitestar and an Illyrian tec, Neema, as alternate choices for the CREW rewards level. These pieces will also be available as ADD-ONs.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We have revised our international shipping costs presenting three shipping zones.

Canada and Mexico - $12
UK and Europe - $16
Australia and Rest of the World - $25
Example: If you pledge at $60 and you live in Germany, only $16 of your pledge will be allocated to shipping. The remaining $9 (of the $25 collected for international shipping) may be put towards Add-On selections of your choice. The are the closest approximations to shipping to these zones that we have been able to calculate in our shipping software.
