So, I want to paint my orks based on a movie of some kind, but I'm not sure what would look good. The obvious one is LotR, but I would like to avoid that if possible. Are there any others that might work?

Give them extra arms and run them John Carter style?

Give them a desert theme and some cloaks, and run them as Sandpeople and Jawas

Give them all feather boas and go Priscilla, queen of the desert

Give them punker do's and facemasks, and go Mad Max? They are almost there already, in any case

So many possibilities to choose from.

I second the Matrix. Hundreds of Orks all in long leather coats and shades? Yes.

Pretre: OOOOHHHHH snap. That's like driving away from hitting a pedestrian.
Pacific:First person to Photoshop a GW store into the streets of Kabul wins the thread.
Selym: "Be true to thyself, play Chaos" - Jesus, Daemon Prince of Cegorach.

To be fair, Imperial Stormtroopers are highly accurate. The problem is we mostly see them firing at characters with plot armour.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Hmmm... I don't actually watch many movies so I can't really give much advise for this one, although I do want to say that Matrix orks would be hilarious.

For some reason I immediately thought of "Down Periscope" when I thought movies. A bunch of Orks in some orky version of navy dress blues/whites... I'd pay money to see that.

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

Minions from Despicable Me/Despicable Me 2.

Nuff said.
