Ok so after seeing the two player box, I really want to start up DZC, but I have one problem... no one at my FLGS plays it...

So I was wondering on how would I kickstart it up at my FLGS? I was thinking of getting the Starter at Christmas, then giving a few demos of it at my FLGS and lending out the starter army's in the box to anyone who wanted a game (as I want to start PHR), but how would I advertise it and any advise from anyone who has done demos before of any game would be greatly appreciated.

Also if the game was to take off what would I need to start up my PHR? is the starter battle set (for PHR) a good point to start? or is buying certain units cheaper and a better way to start off the Cyborgs? similarly should I wait a bit for my PHR if there's anything confirmed that will make them plastic?

Cheers to all comments

I'd say the same as starting any game, either get the starter and give games, or get a friend interested enough to give it a try and split a starter set or two.

Ok, well should I paint the armies before starting demo games or should I play them unpainted if I have little time to paint them?

Painted would likely make it easier to get people involved when you demo anything. Point is to make it look pretty. But if it's just demoing, i'd recommend cutting a game down to the bare minimum to make it easier to teach/get through a few demos. Should make it easier to get a few minimum models painted. Will have to ask someone else what to cut down to though, just general demoing tips.

Even if you don't have enough time to fully paint the starter set models, at a minimum, I'd assemble them and at least get the base coat of each side done in a different color ala the old plastic army men boxed sets you can pick up in discount stores. Ideally, you should get them to at least a 3 color painted standard (not difficult! base color, weapons color, some other random detail here or there in another color, and a wash) before doing demos for strangers. Minis wargaming is a visual hobby so don't underestimate how much of an effect a basic paint job that uses a few colors can have.

I tried this at my local FLGS, they kept saying "Oh it failed, No one likes it. The Rules stink and they failed their good graces. You shuld play MALIFAUX" I tried to tell them how it is popular but they would not listen.

Aye, atm at our club MTG is now dominant and has swept the tables , but hopefully if I try to demo a few games people will get interested and hopefully have a few more war gamers to play against
