I could not find anything here on Dakka and it's not stated clearly in the book (what's new), but if you have 3 bikes and an Attack Bike does that count as a 5 bikes for the purpose of becoming a troop under a Bike Captain or Chapter Master? I know that you have 8 Bikes + 1 Attack Bike in order to combat squad into 1 unit of 5 and one unit of 3+1AB. So one could assume it count's as 5. The wording does state 5 "Models" though.

What does Dakka think?

The attack Bike only counts as two models for the purpose of Combat Squads. For all other purposes (including making the unit a Troops choice) they are a single model.

A Bike is never an attack bike and vice versa.

Just like Scout Sergeants arent Scouts, and thus cannot be given Heavy Weapons while Scouts can.

Happyjew has it right. While Sir Arun is correct, the Attack Bike is still part of the unit of Bikes, and is a model, so therefore counts (the rule doesn't specifically say each model has to be "a Bike" in and of itself). Otherwise, Sergeants would also be excluded.

You require either 5 bikes or 4 bikes and an attack bike for it to be a Troop Choice
