I played my 3rd game of Batman tonight. - Another introduction one.

I took a small 185pt Two-Face force out, facing off against The Batman and 2 police officers.

I think this might be one of the first times I have actually used my Gale Force 9 terrain.

A police Officer was the first to be taken out, being Tommy Gunned by Two-Face. In revenge, Batman managed to knock down (but not out), mallet dude. - Some truly terrible rolls there from the Dark Knight.

As Batman moved off to chase down Two-Face, it left the shotgunner a clear run for the loot.

The game was decided though, when Agent Ron tried to solve a Riddler puzzle all by himself... And lost a victory point for his trouble.

My axe guy then raced at him and took him out (2 wound damage, the fast rules, this guy is terrifying).

With only Batman still standing comfortable, with me having guys near the various loot crates, we decided to call a Two-Face victory!

Had my first game of AoS today... ended up keeping things fairly "equal" we each used 7 war scrolls

I had a decidedly incoherent force, as I was dead set on using my Karl Franz model... which means I had KF, 2 units of Greatswords, and a bit of the Sigmarines from the starter set against a bunch of Khorne stuff

Procrastinating.

I did pick up some Reaper miniatures for my Morrowind project however, and well as I haven't painted anything all week I suspect that they'll be looking for a dab of paint sooner than later. For the moment though I'm just paint a two pence piece to have a fancy wizard's eye on it for Frostgrave.

I'm starting to repaint my WoC army in the colours of Slaanesh. So far this evening I've repainted my 40 odd Chaos marauder horde plus another 10 horsemen with Daemonette skin tones.

I always kinda liked slaanesh marauders, interesting to see pale barbarians.

I'm digging through my latest Infinity purchasi. I ordered 4 geckos (2 boxen) during the miniature market summer sale and got them some alguaciles backup as well as a couple of solos.

The geckos are fantastic. Really chunky models that make me score at people calling them 'mini-tags'. They seem to fit together well too.

Last night, I my first game with the Arkham Knight versions of Batman and Robin.

AK Batman, AK Robin, Agent Ron, Agent O'Connell, Gotham Policeman
Against

Liam Neeson, Talia, Yang, Lotus, Seeker

We ended up calling time with the Assassins had gained 18 victory points to my grand total of... 1.

Clearly, I had done something very, very wrong. Robin got killed by a Talia and Ying double team after getting knocked down. The next turn, Ra's knocked Batman down and did the exact same thing.

I'm not really sure what to make of it. - Ok, sure I had pretty bad luck with the knock downs, Ra's Master Mind special rule hurt loads (I got turn 1 initiative, then the next 3 were Ra's).

I think it was partially personal stupidity in some aspects, but also never managing to get Batman and Robin together, so I'm wondering if the teamwork is pretty much essential for them to be worthwhile. Compared to Arkham Origins Batman, I really found myself missing the movement point and the lack of the counterattack rule. It didn't help, I suppose that Ra's had basically managed to heal up from every attack I did to him thanks to having extra 'special' counters left over.

All, in all, a very rough game for The Dark Knight... Hero of the match ended up being Agent O'Connell who managed to 'STOP!' Ra's Al Ghul at one point, followed by successfully tase-ing him.

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

UK

Hmm, to be fair that League team is pretty damn good, I'm currently undefeated with that setup, against very similar Batman lists to the above. The Blood damage everywhere really can get nasty, and with Sustained Defence, Def 5 and WP8, you won't be hitting Ra's if he doesn't want you to.

Against the League, Blocking is essential; they're throwing out too much Blood damage to take it on the chin like you can against more stun-heavy crews. The advantage you have as Batman is mobility; outside Nyssa the League have no Batclaws, so you want to be kiting them, drawing out the weaker ones then clawing in for a smackdown.

I've not yet managed to get Teamwork to work yet, but I can see it being nice to up damage output. Robin's Bo is only 1Stun, but combine that with Handy and Reach, Combo with Att4 and Teamwork 2 and he can really lay a beating down. Max out Attack for 6 dice, then take a couple of Att from Bats as well, you can throw 8 attacks that reroll hits, the enemy will need to spend at least 1 Move counter to get close enough to hit back, and if you're still on full WP you can put your remaining dice into M/S and Batclaw out immediately, leaving the enemy to hit the much-better-at-defending Batman.

Failing that, you could use it as an 'insurance policy'; Max out Robin's attack to double Combo as before then add the extra dice from Bats into defence. That way, you can get up to 4 Attack and Defence and still leave Bats with a healthy 6 counters.

There's definitely some mileage there, I'll be trying that out tonight for sure.

By the way, I started up a general BMG thread down in Misc Minis Games, might be a better place if you want to talk tactics more.

Good stuff. That may be some of the least jarring warmahordes stuff I've seen, I really like what you've done with it.

I'm somehow allergic to their aesthetic but between the models you've got and the way you've painted them... I kind of like yours.

I was recently told my third party grotesques wouldn't be acceptable for competitive use, so to comply with my local TO's requirements, I got ahold of some legitimate GW models to convert into grots, as well as some old school 3rd edition grots.

Spent the last week up in Cardiff playing my Black Templars against a couple of marine-playing friends.

My Emperor's Champion has since been named Galahad Witchslayer, after the battle in which he slew 4/5 Librarians from a conclave.

And nearly made the other opponent cry when he solo'd 5 sternguard and 5 terminators in melee without taking a single wound.

We suspect he's a Gurkha.

Bird-men and snake-people, right? Sounds fun, though the snake people get my vote for coolness. Yuan-ti and similar were always creepy and kind of awesome in their own way.
