So I was thinking of turning my dark angels into a successor chapter with a Belial counts-as for the chapter master. This new chapter is designed for assassination of fallen and/or important people that need to be killed. Fluff wise, these guys are a strike force, they deep strike in, assassinate the enemy warlord (fulfilling the hunt and gaining me an extra victory point) and then hold out until dark angel reinforcements and/or a transport comes to retrieve them(the end of the game).

I wanted to name my chapter master "Sicarius" as this is the latin word for assassin. My query is, would this be a problem in the 40k universe since the captain of the ultramarines 2nd company is Cato Sicarius?

Also, I am open to suggested names as well, as long as they translate to something that suits the fluff of the army and/or coincide with an appropriate archangel, famous roman person, etc. etc.

I woud avoid sicarius for confusions sake, and honestly I would say just google demon names, or angel names (since their naming scheme is based loosely upon angels and early judaic names)

It's a big galaxy and more than one person can be named Sicarius, in fact if I remember right there is a character named Sicarius in one of the HH novels. For alternative names I would look for lists of angels from various Judeo-Christian sources as they have always led me to good DA names.

I'd go looking on Google for Latin stuff.

Two possibilities below picked out from this list. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_theological_angels

Raziel -
Raziel (Hebrew: רזיאל‎ "Secret[s] of God") is an archangel within the teachings of Jewish mysticism (of the Kabbalah of Judaism) who is the "Keeper of Secrets" and the "Angel of Mysteries".[1] He is associated with the Sephira Chokmah (the second of ten) in Olam Briah, one of the Four Worlds of Kabbalistic theory.[2]

Ramiel -
Râmîêl (Aramaic: רעמאנל, Hebrew: רעמיאל Greek:‘Ραμιήλ) is a fallen Watcher in the apocryphal Book of Enoch, one of 20 leaders, mentioned sixth. Ramiel means "thunder of God"[1] from the Hebrew elements ra'am and El, "God". Remiel is one of the archangels of the Christian and Islamic traditions, the Hebrew name meaning "Mercy of God" or "Compassion of God" (see Jerahmeel). He is often confused with Azazel who is also called Râmêêl ("arrogant towards God" or "evening of God") although they are not the same angel.

I knew about Ramiel and was leaning towards that one, but I also found out that he is both an upright, and a fallen angel.

Is it even the slightest bit possible that the dark angels would let one of their own fallen rejoin their ranks, much less be a master of their own chapter, even if it meant that they would catch much more fallen then they do now?

Or do they kill 100% of the fallen they capture, whether it is before or after they repent.

thats dangerous territory, most likely if he truly repents they would just kill him. BUT, if he accepts the fate and can (within a very short time frame while under heavy HEAVY like I mean, the entire DW company heavy watch) provide more knowledge to the DA about the fallen, they would extract all of it, then end his miserable life.

According to angels of darkness, its repent and enjoy a quick death (unless of course you are important enough at which point they will just keep you alive as a prisoner), or face a slow death

How about Brutus? Probably one of, if not THE most, famous assassin in the history of ever. It also has the sweet added layer of hinting that your Chapter Master might be a fallen, as Brutus wasn't exactly loyal to Caesar.

^thats brilliant. The real brutus was also charasmatic and a great general. Historians have argued that if he wasnt in ceasar's generation he had the potential to be a great in his own right!

Dark angels characters often take their names from christian / hebrew demonology.

For my successor chapter - Pride of the Lion - , i chose Vapula for the name of my chapter master, which is the name of a major arch duke of hell. At turns I use him as a counts as Belial or Azrael - however i feel like playing.

Find a list here with lots of inspiration: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_theological_demons
