So I see quite a few builds of both the demolisher and battletank (my two favorites) adding lascannons and multi meltas to take down AV. My only problem with this is that you can't fire these except with BS1 if you fire the main cannon since it is ordnance. And that means you can't use the benefit of ordnance rolling 2 D6 pick highest. So what should I do if I want to use these two and have anti AV? Do I use just not add the lascannons and multi meltas? Do I add them and fire everything, but just snap fire the lascannons and MM? Or do I add them and simply not fire their main gun when trying to kill AV? Am I missing some option?

Any other advice with these tanks? I am new to guard and am getting quite a few models.

Just don't bother adding guns to ordnance Russes

The demolisher benefits most from the lascannon; it needs a long range weapon for while it is still moving into range.

LRMBT classic loadout was Lascannon/Heavy Bolter sponsons; this isn't very good anymore but it is what a lot of us old tread-heads still have laying around.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

Honestly, with the LRBT you shouldn't take any other guns. Make them as cheap as possible. The battle canon does a decent job against light vehicles, like transports, and the squishy guys inside.

For actual AT, trying to kill the hard to crack tanks, I would suggest Vanquishers. It's very easy to proxy your LRBT as a LRV to test it out. Or you could just buy a spare turret from a bits store.

For AT russes, it's hard to beat a PC/LC Vanquisher. Great AT, great anti-MC, and great anti-MEQ/TEQ.

As for the ordnance Russes, just run them without extra guns.

I agree with both of these from experience^
