Subject: Iron Warriors' stance about Sorcerers?

I know that the Iron Warriors lop off any mutations on their person and replace it with artificial parts, but I can't find what their stance is regarding psykers/sorcerers? Would I be correct to assume that they frown on them for relying on the Warp for their strength, but view them as as potential tools of war compacted into a Astartes?

I'm not entirely sure, my Iron Warriors knowledge is relatively weak. I think replacing mutations with bionics has more to do with their obsession with machinery than anything else (similar to the Iron Hands).
As far as I know, the only completely anti-sorcerer legion was the World Eaters, because Khorne doesn't like tricksy psykers. Certainly in some cases, your viewpoint would be correct (especially with the more ruthless Warsmiths).

In Dead Sky, Black Sun there's a sorcerer Warsmith with cabal of sorcerers, and no one seems to look down on him for it as far as I remember.

Perturabo is a demon prince.
Obliterators which are thought to have been developed by the iron Warriors are definitely created with sorcery and the legion uses demon engines like the other traitor marines so someone must bind those demons to the machines.

If you read the Iron Warriors books, the Warpsmith in the book has a sorcerer. Although he dos kill him when he makes a mistake.

Iron Warriors have large amount of Sorcerer-Engineers (Warpsmiths). Constructing a Daemon Engine is more Sorcerous than technical imo, and shows the Iron Warriors actually are fairly in-tune with Chaos.

really depends on what version of the IW you look at.
There are some accounts where they are more mechanical, cutting out warp mutations and replacing them with bionics. They would probably view sorcerers as a means to an end. Something to be accepted but not encourged. Call this the Warsmith view
Then there is the crazy new warp fused dinobots view where everything is a combo of daemon, machine and man. They would need sorcerers for everything as everything would involve summoning a daemon to be bound to the machine/man. Call this the Warpsmith view.

This seems like a really good way to sum up the IW from "Storm of Iron" to now. There's that one scene in particular (in "Storm of Iron") where McNeil describes the giant Titan transport as it's being guided in to land. I can't remember the exact words but that warband was using a Tyranid Mother-ship that they had subdued and augmented in order to transport their Titan Legion. The book specifically mentions how something like that would only have been possible "within the warp". Which to me, suggests a healthy dose of magic AND technology.

I think its a case of not liking them but needing them, sort of like a blood caked tool. Ultimately Iron Warriors will do whats necessary to carry the day. Besides even basic communication for the traitor legions probably requires a Sorcerer of some variety.

In Siege of Castellax, the IW have a distinct loathing for the Obliterator "virus." They look at the mutation as a disease and lock away those have succumbed to it. Then again, it also said that they intentionally infect their own numbers. So maybe the infected are only locked away until they can completely control the vicissitudes of their condition. You have to consider what sorcery is: Are you talking about putting on robes covered in esoteric symbols while reading aloud from a mouldy tome surrounded by candles and bubbling cauldrons? That's more the Thousand Sons' deal. But the IW's Warpsmiths are involved with daemon-trafficking for sure.

Can't make Daemon Engines without sorcerors.
The Daemon codex also explicitly refers to an Iron Warrior Warpsmith-Sorceror during its timeline section. So there's that.

I'm really not a fan of the new dino bots and heldrake style for Iron Warriors. CSM with bionics and tanks is the core of Iron Warriors imo. They'll use some sorcerors though sure.

yeah I am not a huge fan either. There are 2 competing sets of fluff and IMHO one is incredibly dumb.
