G'day Everyone,
I've considered taking up a necron army and am just interested to hear peoples feedback on this 1850pt list I've whipped up.
It's been made pretty much on observations at a couple comps I've been to and after a read of the codex.

140 Pts
Elite:
5 x Deathmarks
Nightscythe Transport
195 Pts
Troops:
10 x Warriors
Nightscythe Transport

Fast Attack:
5 x Canoptek Wraiths
2x Whip Coils
195 Pts
5 x Canoptek Wraiths

5x Canoptek Scarbs
75 Pts
Heavy Support:

Any feedback is welcomed, cheers!

Well, the army looks quite good. However, I'm take a Destroyer Lord as he can dish out more damage due to his mobility. Whip coils are not a must-have since the weapons that hurt most are initiative 1 anyway.
Moreover, the Deathmarks are questionable. A small unit has too less damage output.

So you got most of the way to a standard wraithwing, but then stopped? Was that because you liked the other models (or for cost reasons?)
I'm not a fan of 10 warriors in scythes. For late game objective grabbing, 5 will do, particularly as you really want to keep them safe (and in the scythe) for most of the game.
Deathmarks really, really need a despairtek....which is very problematic for your list. Without a despairtek, you'll need more as Wuestenfux says. If you are only going to take 5 without a despairtek, I'd be more inclined just to deepstrike them rather than use the scythe. Save the scythe for something else (eg split a warrior squad into 2x5, but now each has a scythe).
I disagree re whip coils - 2 is good. Sure really dangerous, ID stuff hits at I1 usually, but why take the chance of letting the opponent attack first at all?
5 scarabs at this point level looks light. I'd suggest you swap the doom scythe for 3 spyders if you want to keep them. Always good to have MC running around.
Try and put an orb on the Destro Lord. Sure, you are only going to keep him alive, but if it works once it is worth it (particularly as all challenges are going to go to the Lord and he doesn't have an invul save).
hope something helps.

Thanks guys for the replies!!
Good stuff
Upon looking over my list and your comments It did occur to me that the small deathmark squad in the scythe was a bit...yeah weird
So I've redone a list, taken out the deathmarks and put in another destroyer lord and reduced the warrior squads to 5 warriors each, which allowed me room to put another squad in!
I'm liking the look of this one more so, and again thanks for the feedback!

Don't know about the rezorbs- that's a piece of gear that only does anything 1/6 if the times your D lord dies, and for 30 points it ain't cheap...
Don't see much use for the fabricator claws either- if your barges get penned they're probably dead or as good as anyway, just get a third Spyder instead.

I'm going to agree with the res orb point; 30pts for a 1/6 chance at survival does seem worth it (provided that is correct, I do not have the codex on me) could you better spend those points elsewhere?

The key to strategy is not to choose a path to victory, but to choose so that all paths lead to a victory.
War is beautiful because it establishes man’s dominion over the subjugated machinery by means of gas masks, terrifying megaphones, flame throwers, and small tanks. War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamt-of metalization of the human body. War is beautiful because it enriches a flowering meadow with the fiery orchids of machine guns. War is beautiful because it combines the gunfire, the cannonades, the cease-fire, the scents, and the stench of putrefaction into a symphony.

Sometimes its about winning, not bringing something new to the table and making your opponent cry because of your extreme amounts of cheese is a plus

Well, looks better. I'd give the DLords mss instead of orbs. Spiders are too slow. I'd add another AB.
