Can I take typhus and join him into a unit of plague bearers and leave them in deep strike reserve?

No. Read "Daemonic Instability" and "Daemonic Alignment" for the rules as to why.

Why would you use so many negatives? It's just confusing....
No characters without Daemonic Instability can not enter units that do have it.
--or--
No characters without Daemonic Instability cannot enter units that do have it.

Unless you meant to have a comma after your first "No"; in which case this should teach you the importance of commas, even online!

... he's lacking a comma.

"No, characters without Daemonic Instability can not enter units that do have it, and vice-versa" would be the correct syntax.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Right guys back to the point of this thread !

Can some one point out where it says that a Character Daemon can't join a unit with out Daemonic instability . I can't find that any where which would mean a herald could join my thousand sons . If you disagree could you point out where it says it.

There is no restriction on the IC joining units without DI.

I can't find that any where which would mean a herald could join my thousand sons . If you disagree could you point out where it says it.

The very first sentence under "Daemonic Alignment".

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

So my level 3 Herald can join my thousand sons?

Re-read Daemonic Alignment. The very first sentence.

So they can only join daemons of the same alignment it does not say they can't join a non Daemon unit.

Their only allowance is to join daemons of the same alignment. That means they cannot join anything else

Actually, it DOES say that they can't join a non-Daemon unit:
"Daemons can only join units that are composed entirely of Daemons of the same alignment." The "only" is pretty binding.

Yeah Deamons and CSM are like cousins who have a fling for each others, they crave to go hand in hand together, but no one has to see it and know about it.

They're not the stupidest Allies in the game. Battle Bros means the Daemonic psychic powers, of which there are usually MANY, can all benefit the Chaos Marines. That's pretty important.

Stupidest Allies in the game would have to be something like Grey Knights and Necrons; at least they're Desperate Allies with Dark Eldar, but the Crons are somehow 'convenient'?

All the weird allies on the chart are due to obscure fluff here and there justifying specific battle scenarios. Blood Angels can ally with Necrons to recreate their combined defense against the Tyranids, Tau and Space Marines allied against Tyranids that one time so they're battle brothers, etc.

If you ever scratch your head over a strange pairing, the answer is usually Tyranids.

There are lots of them...........the chart seems to be made to sell models rather than reflect fluff sadly
