So i am tired of playing my chaos army, and i am in the mood for a new army. Do you think that the eldar balle force is a good deal? I was thinking about starting eldar with either two battle force or one of the apoc all bike army sets. What do you think.

Well, the battle box contains 10 Guardians, 5 Dire Avengers, 1 Vyper, and 1 Serpent.
I haven't checked the costs but two boxes can serve as a starting point.
Then you would have 2 Serpents into which you could mount troops, and 2 Vypers which you could use as jetbikes for HQs (Farseer, Autarch).

This is generally true. The battle boxes give us some discount.

With the stuff in the box, add some aspect warriors, and you have a good start.
The price of the Battleforce means you get one of the units for free. So, if you don't use one of them, no loss.
If it was me, with no real goal in mind:
2x Battleforce:
2x 10-man Guardians, one to hold back objectives and the other in a Serpent,
1x 10-man Dire Avengers, in a serpent (Exarch with shield),
1 Vyper (see below)
Add to this with:
Farseer, on one of the Vypers as a jetbike,
Spiritseer with one of the squads in one of the Serpents,
1x 3-man Waverider squad, for last-minute objective grabs,
2x 5-man Warp Spider squads as light AV and AI,
Night Spinner (alt build of Fire Prism kit),
This gives you lots of speed and flexibility, but not much against AV13+, unless you put Brightlances with the Guardians.

Thanks. I added the price of the box up and you get the viper basically for free.
@ skinnerreal ~ Thanks for the insight. I recently won a eldar commander with a sniper rifle in a tournament.
What do you think of adding in some warwalkers??

Does the battlebox even contain the sprue for the exarch? The discount on the battlebox is only true because the extreme pricehike that Dire Avengers took with the release of the new codex (for no new additional content in the box)

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums. |

The Exarch is really required. Dire Avengers mounted in a Serpent are basically objective grabbers.

The avenger sprue has the bits so you can make him if you want. Not required though.

This is actually good to know. You could use his bits for making an Autarch.

The 5-man DA set is the sprue for 5 legs, and 6 bodies with arms and heads.
By using a legs from the Guardians you can get another DA.

Alternatively, build one regular and one exarch torso, and swap them on the same pair of legs, depending on if you think the squad needs someone to lead it.

Not really, as it is a lot longer.
But, as there is no official model for a Farseer on a jetbike, stand the Farseer model where the turret would go.

Its a solid buy. If you can get it for around $90 that is.
Wave Serpent 115 before weapon upgrades.
Vyper 50 before weapon upgrades.
Guardians 120 (with platform).
Dire Avengers 65 with no exarch 75 min with exarch before upgrades.

110$ is a tad expensive. try finding one with a discount (like from amazon, or ebay) and youll likly save 30+ dallars on it, which is great.
if you plan to use everything in the battleforce, then its worth it.

I was likely going to sell the Viper and reinvest the cash into the army.
So it looks like with upgrades etc i will have 450pts about per box so that will give me about 900 pts.
I already have the eldar commander with the sniper rifle. I was thinking about a unit of pathfinders to put the commander in, adding two boxes of warp spiders and a unit of maybe three warwalkers.

Battleforces are good ways of getting core troops and transports for your army. The eldar one has good potential, but it has to match what you want to do, at least closely.
The eldar battleforce has good anti-infantry fire and easily upgradeable for decent/good anti tank fire power. From there, expand on what you need.
