Mainly just me double checking, but you can still use Psychic powers, like those from Telepathy against vehicles right? Granted some are pointless, like morale based or pinning based ones, but say puppet master or Ermmm? result in hallucination would still effect a vehicles yes?

Well according to the BRB FAQ:

Q: Can vehicles be targeted by malediction psychic powers?
(p68)
A: Yes, but some malediction powers (such as Hallucination)
have no effect on vehicles.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Wait so randomly all of Hallucination has no effect?

And how do you decide which do and don't work?

Based on the abilities of the power and the vehicle. For example, vehicles can't be pinned or fall back, so Hallucination would obviously have no effect. I don't recall the other results of Hallucinate, but I assume they're also obvious.

Anything that causes Wounds can't affect vehicles (like Psychic Shriek), so there's a load of powers that are out. Vehicles don't have Toughness, so Enfeeble wouldn't do that.

Walkers, though, have a Str value, and can attack in CC....

I know many are discounted against vehicles, for the various reasons you mentioned and more, just when hallucination was completely discounted it threw me off as one of the abilities should work on vehicles.

The Ermmm? result makes it so the unit can basically do nothing. No shooting, running, assaulting, or fight in close combat. I recognize the other two have no effect on a vehicle, just wondering why the whole power is discounted.

Because the FAQ says so.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Sounds like a bad example to use in a FAQ, then.

Agreed^. It both makes no sense to me and implies more than (I hope) they intended.

The only thing I can think of is that they say that because it technically would target the people inside, not the tank itself. And you can't target units within tanks. But agreed, tis a bad explanation.

That's not really what they wrote, even if not being able to shoot qualifies for that description (nevermind killa kan units obliterating themselves).
