So I have an IF army I'm looking to sell but if it doesn't sell I'd like to try a lil more work on it and either end up keeping it or see if the added work pushes it from table top standard to above table top. Currently all the models were layered up to flash gitz yellow(this was a commission work for a friend and he wanted them bright) I can do the outlines around the armor plates on the models easy enough but what color would work best? I see some have used Screaming Bell, but I wonder if it would be better to do a 1:1 mix of flash gitz and white. Would doing a yellow glaze afterward also help any? Pics of the army are in my gallery or are visible in my swap shop thread. Many thanks for the replies!

If you're going to mix I would avoid using white as it usually tends to make the colour a little bright and changes the tone. Try mixing it with a bone colour to keep the colour tone correct, another trick I found was mixing the highlight colour with bone and then a touch of metallic. It gives a shine to the edges and also makes it look like it has worn away slightly.

With the glaze I would run a test mini to see if it actually does the job. No point ruining a good paint job on the off chance if you catch my drift.

Reaper and Vallejo have yellows lighter than flash gits.

Im currently working with GW paints and rather not buy another yellow that I'll probably never use again.

I do have the yellow dry compound from GW but I don't know if that will work in the tight hard to reach places.

Mate, the vallejo light yellow is £2 odd from ebay. Might be worth having it, it's a nice colour.

I used to use just GW, then found vallejo and one use them more than GW. Just a thought.

I have heard from many people that Vallejo is superior, but since my friend owns and operates the local game store I try to give him business.

I'll look into that Vallejo color though. Thanks!
