When I first saw the Riptide, part of me really wanted to like it. Then the other, more sensible part of me wished it had a million more guns. Thusly was born the XV117 Abyss, which will represent me Ravarna on the table, though even the Ravarna doesn't have that many guns on it. Le sigh, a man can dream.

Lol, clearly the real pilot is concealed inside. The naked guy on top is just a bullet-decoy. Awesome stuff! Loving the colors, loving the LEDs.

I'm going to ask a quasi-unrelated question though. I notice that you, too, have chosen the 'not-Tron' color scheme from White Dwarf for your Tau. How difficult have you found it to do? I'm planning on doing my own Tau that way, and would really appreciate any pointers you could offer, or pitfalls to avoid.

The titan project is starting up soon and will feature strobe lights, a sound system and, of course, more gratuitous female nudity. Follow the link in the original post to see the whole project including titans, sonic tanks, hot tubs, heavy metal and dubstep.

It's not difficult, but it is a bit taxing at times. Aside from "follow the link and read my ramblings about the project," the best I could do is to say that you should not worry too much about getting it right on the first try. Be prepared and willing to make mistakes, knowing that you will go back later on and fix the lines. The lines themselves are going to be a headache and a half at times, so just take it slow. Don't try to do the whole model at once. It is totally okay to put the brush down once you find yourself getting tired of it, and come back later on when you're fresh. I'd say that burnout is going to be quicker on an in depth scheme like this one. Oh, and the base purple is Xereus Purple, the lines are Ice Blue. I can say that I wholly suggest you use a basic color rather than any complicated mix, because you're going to have to go back and tidy up the lines by painting over them with the purple, so having a basic color would save you a lot of headache trying to match it. Also note that I did now actually shade or highlight the purple at all. With the blue lines going positively everywhere, I decided to leave the base color flat to allow for better contrast. I may go back and highlight a bit, jsut as I might add some white to the lines here and there for a glow effect, but right now I need a break from tiny blue lines.

She only pops up to rally the troops after she's nova-charged the shields

Follow the link in the original post to my project thread on Warseer. The whole project is broken down on there and there are lots of WIP pictures. I think I have some more that aren't posted, mostly detailing how I hid the battery in the jetpack and other stuff like how the shoulder joints go together. Though I suppose if you wanted to send me a kit and pay me to build another one I could do it, with or without the naked girl on top.

Also, how the hell has nobody noticed that's a female up there? Are the boobs not a dead giveaway? Here's a close up of her from an earlier stage in the project:

Pretty snazzy, makes me think of a number of Battletech heavy/assault mechs.

It made me think of numerous mechs. The Fafnir in particular, but also a number of WoB mechs as well

The reason you're getting Metal Gear Rex comparisons is because the pilot is topless and has long hair...

I really like your conversion and paint job, but think the pilot detracts from it.

I really wanted to do a tau version of "drive me closer," and I also like boobs. So, you know, things just naturally took their course from there.
