No one should be complaining about this codex. It gave regular Eldar a much needed buff by allowing us to drop Fire Dragons and D-Scythe Wraithguard wherever we want, without scatter. Without this, I almost lost a game once. It was scary. I almost took to buying fixed dice to ensure it never happened again.

I personally am a fan of Argel Tal and Lucius the Eternal.

Both very deep characters and very well written imo. It also helps that one is a narcissistic immortal psychopath and one is possesed by a daemon!

Non CSM wise I also like Archon Yhthillian from the Dark Eldar path series.

Farsight is a great choice. I also like Shadowsun, who is still drinking the Ethereal kool-aid ... possibly because of her personal losses (all her sisters died). To me, they make a fascinating pair.

Honsou is a fun character to follow, lots of history and a hidden side of him you do not see.

I also like brother Rafen from the first blood angel omnibus, although he has lost some interest for me with the second story line.

I loved reading from Garviel Loken and Tarrick Torgaddon, albiet short lived.

That said, Nathaniel Garro, sole-survivor of the Death Guard, in the Flight of the Eisenstein (dude took a shot to the jaw from DORN!) was a great read. And have I missed my guess or is Garro the birth of the Grey Knights/Ordo Malleus/etc?

My favorite read to date though? Temeter and Huron Fal's demise at the hands of the virus bomb almost made me cry. I would go on, but I can't spoiler that scene. It's just too good a read. @.@

I have to go with commander Farsight as well, he is a realy interesting character and unlike many other characters, Farsight has suffered multiple defeats making him more believable.

The two guys that I've loved to read about most from the Huros heresy series are Barabas Dantioch of the Iron Warriors, as I find his problem with loyalties fascinating, and Barthusa Varek of the word bearers, I don't realy like the word bearers but he was a very nicely written character and he seemed like a reasonable warrior in an age and especially a legion where it seemd to be in short supply.

My armies:

Erik Morkai's great company 6k
dark mechanicus, the dearth of hope, 8k
rothwyr morwan's company 1,5k

For me it is Lemartes, it is just a shame there is so little on him out of codex.

Garviel Loken for me too because hes a very well written character and his story is quite tragic. cant say too much about his story without spoiling anything so yea

Of the current characters (because you can't really compete with the Heresy guys), I gotta go with Darnath Lysander. Gets lost in the warp for 1000 years, returns to be captured by the hated Iron Warriors, breaks free and returns to the Phalanx and his brothers only to be suspected of being touched by Chaos. Ultamitely proves his devotion of the emperor and goes on to continue bashing the IOM's enemies in the face with his hammer.

There is only the Emperor! He is our shield and protector.

I'll second the statement about Nathaniel Garro in Flight of the Eisenstein.

Loved that book, and plan on one day converting up an inquisitor in Terminator Armor (Or possibly just power armor, not sure) to represent Captain Nathaniel Garro as a display piece one day. We'll see of course.

I also love the story and fluff behind most of the Blood Angels characters. Just wish they were more fleshed out. Dante and Mephiston are both perennial favorites of mine. Their portrayal in the recent Blood Angels Novels is very cool to read. Especially the parts about Mephiston going full bore kill-mode on Chaos Space Marines and being described as a Tornado with a sword. Badass to say the least.

Just my entries. Thanks for reading and take it easy.

Regular Dakkanaut

Commissar Sebastian Yarrick. He's all highs and lows:

High: served honourably and well, then retired.

Low: gets banished by his own governor to a horrible Hive.

High: the horrible Hive he was in was the last line of defense.

Low: gets his arm lopped off by an Ork warlord.

High: kills the Ork warlord and takes HIS arm for his own.

Low: gets captured and tortured by the Orks.

High: gets released by Orks because he's so fun to fight.

...and this was him AFTER he already retired. He's no Primarch, no Dreadnought, not even a regular Space Marine, he's just some old fart that won't die, but that's why I like him.
