Hey Gang

Been flicking through the forgeworld flyers and was looking at the Arvus.

On face value it does not look too impressive. However for 75 points it seems like a pretty cheap budget flyer (in points)

does anyone use it?

not used it or considered buying one - even if its tactic was a late objective grabber do you not find that most FW models get targeted early?

if a dolphin will jump out of water for fish, just imagine what it would do for chips?

I've heard it's one of the worst flyers in 40k and also the model is one of FW's worsts.

Probably work

It seems fairly lackluster. i'd rather spend more points and get something at least somewhat decent, like an Avenger or Stormraven (or Vendetta).

To be fair if people focused on it I'd be happy. Its 75 points lol

I dont think the model is that bad personally.

I would prefer it didnt have that silly snapshot rule though

i have 7 x DKOK centaurs now - talk about crap 'alternative' targets for the enemy. at least they are only 40 pts a throw - if i got an arvus i'd be thinking how 2 x centaurs would be better

It really looks more like a flying cube... I figured it was just made for modelling enthusiasts for their dioramas.

I have used one, in roleplay, without using the model.

I can't believe anyone would buy the thing, it's not a bad model but the price and rules...

It's for more if you have a campaign or diorama idea in mind, the rules for it are pretty crap, what with being forced to fire Snap-Shots and stuff. You'd be much better off getting the Avenger or Vulture instead.

Got myself an Avenger already hehe, Been in the process of painting it!

Regarding the Arvus Im tempted to buy it anyway, if only for a display piece. I may wheel it out if I do though and let you lot know how it goes hehe!

The Arvus was never meant to be good. Use it as something that drives a special scenario, or better yet, make it an objective in a game. First person the get an infantry unit in base-to-base can take off and add a really crappy flyer to their army next turn For the record, I don't think it looks all that bad for what it is supposed to represent: a small shuttlecraft.

I have one.
It has never been used in a game of 40k.

It has been used as an objective or terrain piece in my games of infinity and Tomorrow's war, though.
(it being the personal shuttle of my Imperial Enforcers of his majesty's doctrinal policy.)

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

that seems to be the prime use for it

Objective or scenario play, think I will follow suit on this. I will try to use it in a normal game once in a while though just so I can report how it fares!
