Vindicators, lets have a look at them:
13 AV front, 11 AV sides and back AV 10
Searchlight
Smoke
Demolisher cannon (Large pie plate, STR 10, AP 2)
120 points

OUCH! lets compare that to:
27 cultists
a helbrute with a plasma cannon and power scourge
8 CSM
4 terminators

save for the cultists, it seems the vindicator would be the superior choice, except for that darn AV11 and AV10 armor, which can get glanced by BOLTERS in the back, and heavy bolters in the side.

So heres my brilliant idea: 2 chaos land raiders.

I know, you're already stammering on about heldrakes and obliterators but hear me out.

Imagine 3 vindicators sandwiched between 2 land raiders charging down the field at you with 3 termies in each LR to make them dedicated transports. Especially with armor as rare as it is these days, what can you do? I'M TERRIFIED FOR YOU!

thats 1040 points for two squads of 3 Terminators of Tzeentch, 2 land raiders, and 3 vindies. still got 960 points for troops HQs and heldrakes. Use those guys to make sure that deepstriking sternguard squad with 30 melta-guns get killed right quick and doesnt kill your vindies.

That invulnerable wall of steel has 4 lascannons, 3 demolisher cannons, and 2 TL heavy bolters, along with 6 termies to jump out and meet attackers with power weapons of the future. Those weapons cover just about every type of enemy you will face save for air spam lists.

IS IT CRAZY ENOUGH TO WORK???

EDIT: Example cheese list:

2000pts
3 vindies with daemonic pos and TL bolter
2 LRs with extra armor
2 squads of 3 tzeentch termies
2 heldrakes
DP of tzeentch with PA, wings, BM
3 squads of 20 cultists

I like it! For the cheesiest list add on 2/3 heldrakes and a kitted flying DP with the rest of the troops being cultists. I'd like to try this sometime, against someone I don't like though.

You can only take 1 LR as a dedicated transport IIRC - the list would still work, you'd just need 2k for double FoC or the BL supplement for allies.

I like what you're doing though

Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

I don't think that there are such restrictions. I believe any terminator unit can take a LR as a DT

Thats interesting...

*Preda is now waiting to go home and make a list with 3 LR's and full HS choices...*

Yea, I looked through the codex and couldn't find the restriction. The exact wording for CSM codex is "the unit may take a chaos land raider as a dedicated transport". So hello HS

I land my 3 daemon princes, a bloodthirster next to them and profit. Explode all the vehicles, then my daemonettes rend down the termies. Have a nice day

Indeed, this list is a poor choice against daemons and any other army with powerful deepstriking capabilities.

you wouldnt even have to put the termis in the LR IIRC you could deep strike them down with combi meltas and pop some AV while making a cheapish distraction.

yea this could work nicely

With the amount of bubble wrapping the cultists provide and the inviting pie plates you have it would be dangerous to deep strike aggressively.

Perhaps a variant of this list using Typhus instead of the Prince would be worth considering.

Making your horde of cultists fearless and FNP would be most helpful. You could change the Terms to meltacide units and embark 2 10 man zombie squads into the land raiders for more scoring mobility.

I would break the cultists into 6 10man units, that way pinning and morale won't wreck them as bad. And something like a thunderfire cannon won't obliterate 20 cultists. That way you can hold wayyyy more objectives. I like the list, though I would probably do Mark of Nurgle on the termies or even no mark at all, they are really just a tax for the Land Raiders. Or give them Combi's and run Termicide

You can take a LR as a DT for each termie unit in your army as others have already said, but I'm more interested in how you manage to put 4 heavy support choices in there

When this list started it was 2k double foc, but needs properly updating as I've made changes. The troops need changing up. But anyway, what about the list in the op?
