Hi all, this is my first time drafting a list for use outside of fighting my brother, so any cleanups or advice would be appreciated

So here it is:

HQ
Chaos lord
Mark of khorne, powerfist, combimelta

TROOPS
Aspiring champion w/ plasma pistol, powerfist
9 marines with 2 plasmaguns

Aspiring champion w/ plasma pistol
6 marines 1 meltagun
Rhino

So is this an OK list @ 493pts?
Plan being lord and smaller group ride rhino and go for armour
while other squad plasma things to death

Looks reasonably well thought out. I would add extra combi-bolster to rhino for 5 pts.

Maybe take MoN on lord for better toughness since he will be exposed to fire once he jumps from Rhino.

You're putting all your anti armour options in one basket. If bring some variant of the LRBT and pop the rhino (which wouldn't be too hard) they have to foot slog it. Just my two cents.

A thaught might be to drop the two plasma pistols and remove something else to get a squad of cultists. Another might be to swap in some CCW in the group that the lord rides with to contest objectives.

Forgot to mention the rhino is rocking a combi bolter and havoc launcher

I've been looking for an excuse to redo my pred anyhow.. although since the models are coming from when i was younger they're all khorne oriented..

So will maybe invest in some plague gribblies

Alternatively give him terminator armour Mon and run him with some cultists or oblits

Yeah I played a few games since, and the lord did not get a hit in against anything before being diced.. So will need to rehaul him, although the other powerfist user would get plenty of chances.. his kill total for one match was a rhino and most of a tactical squad hehe..

Thats a nice list but maybe cut the second squad down to 5 and add in a rhino for the 10 man squad with the lord.

the only thing i would say on the second list is have a melta and a plasma with each plague squad as your not them going to lose 2 models for bad rolls in your own shooting. apart from that looks solid.
My experience against CSM is that a black mace is the bane of my life and i will kill the lord and anything nasty before it even looks at me and its horrifing in CC and i cry on the inside.
