I'm going to be working on a conversion project soon and I was wondering if any one would know where I can find some 1 1/2"-2" boulders for modelling.

Woodland scenic has a few "rock" molds that are about that sizeI think. You would have to cast them in plaster or resin however.

Armorcast has a few decent sized "rocks" as well.

(scroll down).
Other than that, I would just make them from insulation foam, or woodchips if you want want to work with foam.
Best of luck!

Well you could make your own molds with Instant mold. Make a two part pressmold useing normal rocks. Then use sculpting putty to make the copies. You coulld even leave the inside of those stones hollow for less weight if you only fill the mold with a thin layer of putty. Not as expensive as buying premade molds and you'll have more variation as instant mold can be reused. But the copies might not be as detailed and it will probably take more time to create them.
