My gaming group is about to enter the 1250 round of our escalation league. The 1000 point round was a little shaky for me, particularly when dealing with Tyranid monstrous creatures.

The list below is a bit of a departure from what I've been using. I'm just trying to brainstorm different things at this point.

The only limitations at this point are that I can only take 0-1 flyer and 0-1 named characters. Everything is on the table, so please feel free to offer all suggestions.

Overlord
-WS, MSS, SW, PS

Royal Court
Harbinger of Destruction x3
Lord
-Res Orb

Warriors x20
-Ghost Ark

Immortals x5
-Tesla Carbine
-Night Scythe

Triarch Stalker
-TL Heavy Gauss Cannon

Annihilation Barge
-Tesla Cannon

Annihilation Barge
-Tesla Cannon

The Res Orb Lord goes with the Warriors. They all march in front of the Ghost Ark which holds the 3 Destructeks. The Triarch stalker is there to give twin linking to the warrior blob. The ABs do what they do. Immortals get dropped on an objective and fling tesla at things.

I'm looking for a suggestion as to how to handle a walking Overlord. I've only used Destroyer Lords and Overlords on CCBs up until now.

All input is appreciated.

I don't think you need a Lord and an Overlord for this list. I suggest you ditch the lord, and the PS on the overlord, then put the orb on the Overlord, plus get a Stormtek with lighting. Put them both in the blob.

The stalker is a lot of points to pay for TL. Can work, and particularly the Destrukteks will like it.

As an alternative, maybe 4 scarabs and a pair of Spyders (there should be some points leftover from the Lord/cryptek swap).

Those are all excellent suggestions.

I may hang on to the PS on my Overlord because he insists on dying to AP2.

I will take a look at how those suggestions add up and re-post.

Thanks!

Dropped the stalker, the lord, and the PS off the overlord.
Added a stormtek, 7 scarabs, 2 spyders, and a res orb on the overlord.

As much as I like the scarabs/spyders - would a squad of Wraiths be more effective?

YMMV. The main role of the scarabs/spyders is anti CC - at this points level I prefer scarabs/spyders over wraiths as they are a bit more flexible as you get two units to play with, rather than one plus scarabs are better against vehicles.

With a blob and a GA, its easier to hide the scarabs which gives you a bit more time to bulk them up as well.

Your call really.

I think the key is going to be playing some test games before I commit one way or the other.. Thanks for the input.
