I've got gribblies and I love them!

By gribblies, I mean various illnesses...

Doom Harvesters Warband (750 pts)

-Chaos Lord w/MoN, Pwrfist [105 pts]
-Plague Marines w/+2, Flamer, Meltagun, Meltabombs, VotLW [195 pts]
-CSM w/VotLW [80 pts]
-Predator Annihilator [140 pts]
-Land Raider [230]

As you may guess, the Lord and PM's are going to go into the Land Raider, which will then race up to the enemy and start killing.
The Helbrute (A personal modification of a C:SM dreadnought, it has a pair of DP arms on one side) is going to get close and go for the obvious smashy smashy.
The Predator will sit back and snipe.
The idea is to kill everything before turn 5, and ignore the objectives. The reason I'm taking the LR is to increase my durability. If someone forgot to stock up on Str 8+, they're going to have a bad time trying to table me

EDIT: Reconfigured the list. Dropped the Helbrute, added a troop unit (I forgot about the minimum of 2 rule).

Hey man, I'll be honest with you. Hell brutes are not worth their points. You'd be better off putting some special weapons in your pm squad and changing the power fist on your lord to dual lightning claws. You have 2 twin linked lascannons on your raider plus your pred so you don't really need it. Plus your lord will be hitting at i1 which isn't cool. With the left over points from that add some more plague marines to the squad and maybe The Lord some wargear so he can tank wounds for them.

Out of curiosity, have you ever actually seen a Helbrute hit the table?
Ever?

Or are you, like so many others, going by the Internet's decision on the effectiveness of something?

Admittedly, mathammer isn't great for Helbrutes, but TT effectiveness is another thing entirely. Helbrutes can be placed in clever positions to hold horde units in place, burn out a hard target, distract someone, etc.

Though I will consider the LC for the Lord, that idea seems legit.

I've seen Helbrutes used extensively in many ways but never has one been remotely useful. At 75 points I'd consider it.

You're correct. But I'm not going for Objectives, just killing

Well, I'll see how it goes. If it works out for me, I'll try to post a batrep for it

Hellbrutes are pretty darn good. Never seen one underperform. they are pretty scary, and I never dedicate enough fire, fast enough. I think your list needs a helldrake. (LOL jk).
where is troop choice 2? you need 2 for a legal list.
