Hey all, just starting out with trying a Dark Angels list and wanted what I've come up with to be critiqued..
This is what I've got so far

This brings me to a total of 1740 points..

Obviously going to be a lot of Deep Striking with this list. Any thoughts on how this would go on the table top?

It doesn't look like a bad list at all, but a few things. Deathwing can't put many units on the table so you have to limit the amount of non-troops you bring in a force. That said, I would drop one unit of DWK, and the relic from the one you keep, and grab a third unit of DWT. While we're looking at your termies I feel I should tell you that your squad load outs are illegal. You can't have 2 special weapons in a 5 man squad. If you want both a CML and AC in the same squad you have to bump up to 10 man units. So I'd pick the special weapon and you like the most and go from there (personally I like to stick Belial with an AC squad for those precision strikes and keep the CML for any units that will start on the board).

I've never used the flyer so can't speak to that unit. However, in this list I'm not sure the flyer brings much to your list. You have the devs for a bit of AA with their flank missiles so maybe switch the flyer for a mortis dread? Stays with the deathwing and provides you a little more AA if needed and/or long range firepower.

With your devs, why not make one squad with 4 LC and the other with 4 ML instead of 2 mixed squads? I haven't been playing deathwing long myself but these are some things I've experienced while playing. I also love DWK and have found they have the same issue as hammernators- they pretty much NEED a land raider. Deep striking them isn't the best idea but it can work in a few narrow situations. Hope this helps and good luck with working towards a list you like.

also, I REALLY advocate outfitting half your guys with a plasma cannon, 1 with a CML and 1 with an AC.

I'm still keen to try the Deep Striking Knights, if it all goes to hell I'll start reshuffling to fit in a LR of some variant..

you dev squads, turn them into 1 LC squad and 1 ML squad and you have a really solid list to work on.

This is almost identical to my 2k DA list except I spam CML and ML units and have 2 units of 5 knights. It find starting my units on the board better than deep striking them I use the knights as a wall, though mobility is a problem against some armies.

plasma cannons are, imo, much better than CML, and cheaper.
