This may sound a bit "top-heavy" but the amount of buffing generated by the HQs is pretty sick:
HEADQUARTERS:
285] Calgar with Armor of Antilochus
270] Honour Guards (x8), Chapter Banner, pod
165] Tigurius
ELITES:
227] Sternguards (x6), LC and MBs srgt, 3x combis, rhino
TROOPS:
215] Tacticals (x10), combi-plasma, PG, PC, rhino
205] Tacticals (x10), combi-melta, MG, MM, rhino
200] Tacticals (x10), combi-flamer, flamer, HB, rhino
HEAVY SUPPORT

TOTAL: 1997
Roll 3 times on the Divination table with Tigurius, top 2 powers would be Prescience and Forewarning (to cast on the HGs) most of the other powers will still be pretty useful. Between Calgar's "double-doctrine" and Tigurius, the potential amount of re-rolls is pretty ridiculous. The only really hard counter to this list that I can think of would be a very flyer-heavy list like a 'Cron Air Force, reroll 6s will only get you so far...
Thoughts?

don't split the dev squad heavy weapons, just go all lascannons
drop the armor of bleh, you have no DS units or pods, its not worth the 10 points as it gives you nothing here. drop the PC for a LC, if your putting them all in the rhinos, as you at least get to shoot with the LC if you move. (also, imo pods are fine just place it in an area where you hit terrain easily  )

Actually, Calgar is riding in the pod with the Honour Guard, that's why I gave him the TDA, so he can drop the OB upon arrival (and/or movement later in the game).
The all-lascannon devastator squad is a good idea, I like the Flakk for a minor boost in AA but the devastator doctrine might help with the LCs.
The PC will probably be combat-squadded out of the rhino at the beginning of the game.

Common mistake: termies don't have access to pods as a dedicated transport, however, TDA ICs can join a squad in a pod as long as you make room for them.
So with Calgar in the HG squad that's 41 attacks from the squad on the charge and 7 attacks from Calgar.

This is how I suggest looking at a Calgar list
The trick is that if your putting down nice juicy 25 point models instead of 14 point models, you can bet that all the AP2 weapons in your opponent's army will be pushed at the honor guard.
50 bodies at 2k is not enough. An Eldar player can sweep off 30 in the first round of the game. You need more bodies to give that required durability to surivie a shooting match.

this is why I always put tigy and HG in a raven to come on later. they are amazing units for the points value having a CCW, boltgun, and pistol. your primary focus the first 2 turns should be neutralizing as much ap2 weaponry as possible, (big things 1-3 shots of ap2 are meh, as your HG can come in and sweep them up) pop extra armor on the raven and it is suddenly hard to pop out of the sky. also, with about an 80% chance for tiggy to grab the 4++ save power you now have 2+/4++ guys for 13 points more per model (with power weapons) than tacs Automatically Appended Next Post: drop the dev squad down to 5 w/ either LC or ML and drop the rhinos. grab a raven and just plop your dudes behind the 3+ ADL. (yay for bolster defences)

You can't bolster an ADL.
While I'm with you about the Stormraven, sadly, I do not own one yet...
And labmouse42, I only have 3 full tacticals and 1 full devastator squad... :(

Not sure how this list works. Solo drop-pod comes down in T1 with little/no shooting attack. Takes all opponents AP2 shooting and is wiped out. Game carrys on with you 400 points down ...
Suicide drop-pod units are units like the sternguard who get to do some shooting first before they die. Maybe if you put sternguard in a drop-pod as well and get an empty pod so both honour guard and sternguard drop in turn one. Or go the whole hog and get a tac squad with flamer/combi-flamer to come in as well. Now we're talking!
As I'm on a roll, why not Space Wolf ally with a runepriest and Jaws in a pod as well??
