Geoff "InControl" Robinson of SC2 fame, challenges Spam Adams in a challenge match to get in Team Zero Comp! Glory to the winner, losers leave in shame!
Congratulations to InControl for joining the team in such a short time! I also really like and agree with some of his thoughts at the end of the video in regards to a well-fought match. I don't mean to knock any competitive players or tournaments when I say this, but I think some of the most interesting games come not from the most powerful lists, but from armies so evenly matched that every decision and every roll has significant consequences.
It was a very interesting report and I can't wait for the next one!

What someone online on the other side of the world that you've never met says should never deter you from taking a unit for being either weak or OP. The community is a great place to come for tactics advice, and there is a lot of very sound opinions and idea out there, but at the end of the day, play the game how you want to... Don't worry about the hordes of Dakka descending on your gaming club to arrest you for taking one heldrake or not using a screamerstar. Knowing the standard opinion (and that's all it is) on what is good/bad and conforming to that opinion religiously are two entirely separate things.

If you guys pay attention, you can see me near the beginning of the video. I'm the short guy in the red t-shirt playing a game in a rematch between my 5th Ed. Draigowing army against GTA's (Grant Theft Auto's) Deer Council Deldar.
Anyways, congrats to Geoff for making it to T0C. Ok, Geoff, your true test will be when you go up against me. Lol. Maybe we will have a bug-on-bug battle. Double flyrants or flyrant + Swarmy? Maybe we'll find out.
That was a really great game. I am surprised it was such a bloody fight, you would think with everything being yellow they would be more understanding.
Congrats to incontrol one joining the team.

Adam's list didn't have nearly enough anti-MC in the list. He had good strategy for killing the little bugs but I guess must've forgotten that the Tervigon's can score too...Congratz Incontrol, now you needa play jy2 or mortetvie!

He mentions FnP once or twice.
Agree tho. Would be a worthwhile addition to the batrep format to talk about psychic power use for the nid army. He's prolly got 11 or 13 powers in that list and swarmlords lineup is pretty important.
Good job tho. It's cool to see a RTS player learning so quickly and defeat tournament regulars. Keep up the good work guys.
Soooo not to be too critical, but here's what I would have done.
the early drop pods should have dropped in the same area with combat squadded fire teams. spread out to disallow multi charges. Use a pod wall to force the enemy to either go around, or spend a turn killing a pod. This would have allowed the early marines to take out and overwhelm parts of his Nids with an aoutnumbering force. From what I can see in the video, there were pods everywhere, with no support from other squads. More units means longer to take out scoring units in HTH.
The later pods come down and take objectives, extend the pod wall, etc.
As for army design, I'd gak the thunderfire or whirlwind and throw at least some hth special weapons here and there, maybe some deathwind launchers on the pods to force your opponent to have to either kill the pod or kill the marines.
I always prefer a support HQ as to a more aggressive use of one, so you could downgrade to a libby and keep the thunderfire and use those points for deathwind or power firsts etc.
Is the Nid build a common one? No one here really plays NIds.
.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

No worries, be critical all day so long as you are respectful in the way you do it. That's how we get better!
And yes, the Nid player's list is fairly common. You typically see that list almost exactly, but often with two Flyrants and gargoyles instead of Hormagants, but close enough.
