This is the list I'm considering running for an upcoming fun tourney our store is running.

HQ:
275 Calgar
260 10x Honor guard
260 10x Honor guard
260 10x Honor guard

Troops:
95 5x Tactical marines w/ Las Cannon
95 5x Tactical marines w/ Las Cannon

Heavy Support:
260 Land Raider w/ Multi Melta
260 Land Raider w/ Multi Melta
260 Land Raider Crusader w/ Multi Melta

What do you think dakka?

for fun? go for it, if you wanna "win" idk. the biggest problem here is, T1. you now have no scoring units.. also, if you have honor guard, TAKE A CHAPTER BANNER the +1 attack is really amazing.

A smart opponent will eat up your scoring units and leave you in a bad spot. That's a big weakness of the list.

OOO forgot about the chapter banner. By "fun" I meant we are all bringing some really werid lists. I know one army is bringing 6 helldrakes to this one as well. I pray my army sees them. I will walk across the field unafraid while my tac squads hide in the raiders

Considering only doing 2 squads of honor guard + raider and taking more troops. If I did that I could definitely run with tigger. Also only one of those marine squads has a las cannon, the other squad would be bare. messed up my points for the top list there.

You would need two more chapter masters (or equivalent) to do so (FYI Change one into tigger OR a chapter master with a BB or SE or something fun like that.)

I suggest dropping calgar from this list, kinda wasting half of what you pay for (old combat tactics and extra CT use)

That defeats the purpose of the list.

Go to the C:SM book. Read calgar's entry. He allows up to three Honor Guard squads to be taken instead of the usual one.

Calgar allows me to take 3 honor guard instead of the normal one is the reason I was using him.

Though it looks pretty fun, there aren't many scoring bodies.

As a suggestion, drop one honour guard and 1 raider.

Then take the equivalent in Rhinos and Tactical squads.

520 points spare -

3 kitted tactical squads plus rhinos.

I would swap the Godhammers for Crusaders which are better and the same points or Redeemers which are better and cheaper. It really is the worst Landraider by a margin.

As others have suggested get a Chapter Banner on the unit Calgary joins drop a guy to pay for it. I'd get Calgar his terminator armour. Moving and shooting the orbital bombardment for only 10points is always worth it plus its a much cooler model.

What weapons are you taking on the Honourguard? My advice is 6 Mauls and 4 axes.
