Can lesser daemons become greater daemons?

Is there any fluff example of a lesser daemon being turned into a greater daemon by their god, much the same way as a human becomes a Daemon Prince?

I can't think of any example of it but I'm sure that a demon who performs exemplary service is rewarded just like any other follower who honours their patron. It seems dubious that greater demons would be created as is.

I'll comb through Lost and the Damned for an example.

Ku'Gath was once a Nurgling; but he fell in Nurgle's pot of plague stuff while he was trying to make the most powerful plague ever, drank it all and in doing so became a Great Unclean One.

I think that's close enough.

ABSOLUTELY, however they are usually accidental. Ku'Gath is a great example. Fateweaver is another, although I believe he just went from Lord of Change to Super Lord of Change. Pretty much all of the Generals of the Legions Infernal are elevated lesser daemons. Skulltaker is a good example of how one would have to work at it as he claimed something like 9000 x 9000 skulls to gain his title? Something like that. I'm still trying to get all the numbers down for those guys.
