Tactics, cost effectiveness, and intelligence aside, what are the most fun units or armies you have ever seen?

EDIT: Talking about unit composition, not general codecies.

Random stregth with 6 potential 'side effects' ranging from exploding spontaneously to destroying everything hit by the template (yes, everything, Eternal Warrior means precisely squat.)

Personally, I have tons of fun with Tyranid Swarm armies. 100+ Gargoyles/Gaunts/Rippers backed up with a few bigger beasties. The look on your opponents face when your movement phase is aboutto take a week is priceless...

I play a few armies:
Forces of Order: Grey Knights & Eldar
Forces of Disorder: Dark Eldar
Forces of 'we don't care, we're just going to eat you anyway': Tyranids

The most fun army I've ever played against was a full kroot army
Ie even the hq was kroot ( I think they used to have there own codex)
It was fun because it was completely zany and took 3 turns to beat haha

The most fun I've seen is a USMC imperial guard army complete with m16s instead of lasguns and Blackhawks as valkries it look ace !!

Sisters of Battle. Some pretty heavy guns, an almost army wide 3+ armour save, low cost, meaning you don't get sad puppy just because a bunch of your guys die in the shooting phase, a 6+ invuln on everything. Rolling that rare 6 to save the Exorcist that your enemy has brought everything to take down is priceless.

Some pretty nifty special rules, with acts of faith and hymns. Not fantastic rules, but we were talking about fun, here.

With Imperial Guard you get pretty much the same thing as sisters, except you get more choices for your vehicles, more choices for your troops but you lose the 3+ armour save.

Yeah the usual reaction is, 'Right, I'll go put the kettle on then'.

First game I ever played with the current Tyranid book.

I proxied the 5 Tervigon list and faced a spam punisher list...to test resiliency.

Went 7 turns without a single one doubling out and coated the board in tyranids...I think I ran out of gant models.

...I have 220ish termagants.

I know it sounds like a broken record with threads like this but I would say to play against... Orks. They are so amazingly hilarious and great that it is never a dull moment.

Build a machine that on one end is a vacuum hose that sucks up snotlings and at the other end creates a warp portal to "fire" the snotling at a target and have it reappear from the warp inside its armor, body or whatever and add in the "joys" of ork technology and you have a shokk attack gun and the craziness it causes on the table top.

All skimmer tau army. Not actually very good, but it is hilarious to play with (and see the look on your opponent's face).

When the gun goes wrong, it can fire the ork firing it across the battlefield instead of the snotlings...

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

For the lists I love playing, it's either :
Horde Guard: "You have HOW MANY guys?" followed by "You have HOW MANY lasgun shots?!" followed by "Wow, did I just kill 30 of your guys in one shooting phase?"

Deep Strike Marines/BA (better in 5th): "Oh, I'm sorry, did you want me to deploy something?"

I can't really think of most fun army I've played against specifically, but on the whole, I love games when I'm up against something new. My first game against SOB was a blast, as I'd neither seen the models in person nor seen the rules used, so it was a completely new experience. I also love facing armies that have a good backstory or fluff behind them, it adds so much more to the game.

Probably a 5e Apocalypse game between a DA/GK/Eldar army and an IG/SM army. The Imperials bunkered up and set up their big guns, then looked over the top of their fortifications to find a wedge of Eldar tanks shielding a Ravenwing brigade running straight at them, followed by sixty Terminators landing in their collective faces and massacring the defenders. Only time I've ever seen an Apocalypse army get tabled.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Krieg! What a hole...

My so called ''House of Pain''

3 Earthshakers carriages and Thudd Gun inside a building shattering skies left and right.

The suicidal Grenadiers are fun to play, when people let you do it, and it was always fun to see a 10 (guards)men squad worth 250 pts flatten itself on a wall

Home made army, made up of moles. Brilliant models and rules, was a lot of fun to play and was quite tough. Favourite model had to be the kamikaze mole.

Bruins fan till the end.
