Well guys, since my painting skills are approaching a level I feel somewhat comfortable with (still improving) my eye now wanders to the tactical aspect. To be honest, I jhust WANT MORE STUFF to build and paint!
But since running of and spending hundreds of Gelt on an army that won't scratch anyone, I'd wager it is best to ask for advice first.
Now, what I want is a decent, fuffy army. I'm in no way trying to be very competive, but winning a game now and then would be neat

I'm all into the immersionn aspect of the game (which is why I like to paint even the simplest tac with every layer, glaze and shade available) and find WYSIWYG rather important.
Since I'm starting with DA (due to DV and rather liking them) I plan to go with an army that includes all aspects and then, at a later date, "branch" out into more specialised lists.

So, what I currently have is rather limited... Basically the DV Set with an added Tac.

HQ:
Azrael

Librarian
Mastery Lvl2

For "escorting" the libby, giving me a pretty durable and shooty unit

Help defend my objectives/devs/tavs (besides, I love them things)

Standard:

1 Heavy Bolter
1 Melta
Sergeant /w combi Melta

Razorback
Twin linked lascannons

This should transport the Melta Combat Squad to help hunt down light vehicles

Heavy Support:
Devastator Squad x 5

2 Rocket Launchers

Hide behind the Aegis and shoot anything that comes into LOS

Fast attack (counts as standard)
RW Squad x 6 guys
Attack Bike with multimelta
Landspeeder with 2x MM's

Again, hunting some nasty vehicles or MEQ with the twin linked Bolters. Will stick close to the Command squad.

Darkshroud
80 pts
Offer improved coversaves for the Command Squad and the RW Squad; pretty much always at full movespeed to get the +1 Cover save.

Fortifications
Aegis Defensive Line
50 pts
For the Devastators to hide behind.

This, imo, has elements from every "Wing" and is quite "fluffy". IM considering removing some RW and adding some more Termies to "balance" it out a tad...?

in your 2nd tac squad having an hb and a melta doesnt make much sense, melta being close range, meaning you need to move to use it, thus limiting the hb

I can Combat Squad and split them up (thats why there's a Razorback to transport the Sarge with the Combimelta and the Melta dude with 3 buddys) or did miss smth?

wow, 10 lascannon and 10 rocket shots per turn will put a serious dent into anything, lol, my bloodm angels wouldnt survive first turn against that

Sorry, bad formatting The x5 is 5 guys in the squad, so the 4 heavys + the Sarge.
I may or may not actually KICK a tac for another Dev Squad, since, with Azrael as HQ, every Deathwing and Ravenwing Squad count as standard and therefore can score
Also as long as he lives everyone has LD 10, which saves me from getting Vet Sarges (hes most prolly hang back and defend with the Deadnought and the Dev Squad anyway)
