Since the current meta seems to be minimum troops, kill off the opponent's troops, i think this gives me a good shot. Plan is, wraiths with Lords move up, and barges focus on the big targets, while the immortals move to midfield, claiming objectives and laying down anti-infantry fire. Any suggestions other than add more wraiths, or add more Night Scythes?

Well, I'd take 15 or 18 Wraiths since they will be the first target on the enemy's target priority schedule. I played 3x5 of them in a recent RTT and found that over three games (horde CD, horde Orks, and Black Legion - 2 win and 1 draw) the more the better.

Okay, so another squad of wraiths perhaps.
What would you suggest dropping to afford them?

Drop an immortal unit, and take maybe deathmarks for that deathstar killer or danger MC killer unit.

You have enough troops so thaty you could drop some.
How about your Wraiths? Six of them are 210 pts.

I never rated tesla on immortals just don't see the point. I'd rather have gauss any day. Glance vehicles to death, And rapid fire weps. Your only going to get 1-2 6's per shooting attack with tesla. Plus it's no ap, gauss on immortals is ap4. I also agree you need more wraiths. I don't really see the point of your second destroyer lord with no upgrades. I'd rather drop it and take a overlord to go with foot slogging immortals with red orb. So you can take a cryptek with leadership flamer and a unit of 5 death marks for the combo. And a nightscythe for them to ride in. So to pay for this I would drop d lord and the 10 warriors. That should give you exactly the right amount of points. If you don't want the extra scythe you can take the 5 warriors out of theirs and stick the death mark/cryptek in it and leave the 5 man squad in reserve to walk on and cap your home objective. That leaves you with 100 or so points for more wraiths.

I was running them with a single whip coil in the case of MC's, so they came out to 220 a squad of 6 @Necronspurs2012 I've run deahmarks in the past, but they have never paid dividends unless I have the abyssal staff with a harbinger of despair with them. They are pretty underwhelming vs. MC's ive found. Automatically Appended Next Post: SpankingApe wrote:I never rated tesla on immortals just don't see the point. I'd rather have gauss any day. I'm really thinking that the deathmark/cryptek combo doesn't fit in here too well. its 95 for 5 marks, 100 for the scythe and 45 for the 'Tek. But it doesn't really synergize well here, aside from maybe against screamerstars and seer councils and other things where wounding on 2's, AP 1 ignoring cover is handy. I'll fiddle with it a bit, and see what I come up with. But then one of my wraithstars loses its tank character and preferred enemy: everything. Point taken i guess i'll swap out for more Gauss.

To me, you also have to take into consideration play-style preference. Do you want to go super-optimized? Or are looking more for an optimized troop-heavy walking list? It looks to me as if you favor the latter.
So here is my suggestions. If you go for a troop-heavy list, gotta add some crypteks. That means 1 Destroyer Lord and 1 Overlord. That's how I would do it if I were to go with a troop-centric list:
1. You need more mobility, especially for the scoring units. I highly recommend a Veil-tek to give you another mobile scoring unit.
2. I recommend Crypteks for every foot unit for some We'll Be Back shenanigans.
3. Give your OL a Res Orb since he will be with a unit that can actually use it.
Using your deathmark list as a base, I'd go something like this:
Destroyer Lord 160 WS/SW/MSS
Overlord 160 WS/SW/MSS/ResOrb
x6 Wraiths 210
x5 Wraiths 175
A barge 90
A barge 90
A barge 90
Night Scythe 100 D&D squad
Night Scythe 100 (5 man warrior squad)
x5 Warriors 65 (In Scythes)
Storm-tek 25
x10 Immortals 170 Tesla Carbines (Foot OL goes here, maybe can benefit from assault weps
Veil-tek 60 (with your OL and tesla immortals)
x9 Immortals 153 Gauss Blasters
Lance-tek 35
x9 Immortals 153 Gauss Blasters
Lance-tek 35
x5 Deathmarks 95
Harbinger of Despair 30
1996
Your other list with 2x D-lords is solid too. Either list will be good.
