Which would you rather go with....3 Hellhounds and a Griffon with Improved Comms or 3 Leman Russ Main Battle Tanks?

1.) I don't think you can use Griffons any more.
2.) Hellhounds now have good fire range and don't always count as pen. when hit. So they are good (IMO)
3.) Points issue, you are playing guard, see how much junck you can get together, so you may not want say 3 Russ, maybe a Russ and a Basi, Basi's are good too.

Of course you can. Their rules are in IA1 and AI3.

A single Russ? That's a terrible idea. Tanks work in pairs, trios, or not at all.

I'd go with 3 hellhounds and 2 griffons with inferno shells. A tasty combo that is sure to make your opponent have a fit. As to the other poster, yes you can still field Griffons. They are in IA now and better than they were before, since you can buy shell upgrades...so tasty. Capt K

Thanks for that little bit of info, I thought they were gone since the latest guard codex. As for a russ, you are correct, field 2, heck just play armored co and throw in all you got.
