I'm curious what everyone else does. I've found that because of availability of magnets(3x2 can be had for VERY cheap on amazon). I pretty much am always magnetizing at the shoulder, and just getting entire other arms instead of magnetizing specific weapons at the wrist, what does everyone else do?

I find wrist magnets to be too small and fiddly. It's either the shoulder or nothing for me.

I do both. Some of my arms are literally just an arm with a magnet on each end. The main reason I favor wrist magnetization is because you only need to find the component at that point and don't have to scare up an entire extra arm and shoulder and paint it. The only downside is having to stack magnets for the hold power, but that's not really such a bad thing. As noted, sometimes you do need to do it at the shoulder to support a PF or LC.

Tyranids need the shoulder joint magnetized, so I oblige.
The Marines, it's easy to do wrist for pistols and arm for larger stuff, so usually both...

Really depends on the model.
For example with space marines if you need a special shoulder pad, that you might not have spares of, then using another arm wont work without extra bits.
But if a plain pad, or one in surplus is needed, then yes absolutely magnetise the shoulder where there is more room for larger magnets and easier insertion.

It depends on what is needed. Personally I'm using temporary pins instead of magnets but regardless. I just did one of my Terminator Justicar for my GK. I pinned at the wrist because I'm only swapping his force weapon and the pose works with all 3 weapons.
On the other hand my Flyrant is pinned at the shoulder.

I magnetize where ever is easiest to attach the magnets. Generally though, I only magnetize when the box contains multiple options, so there's usually a good spot where each of them is intended to be joined to stick a magnet.

Always pick the location with the room for bigger magnets - model and desired options permitting. Space Marines are so bloated that you can stick 3mm or 2mm magnets pretty much everywhere. Other races are not so lucky.

Tau are at the hands/weapon.
Space marines are at the shoulder if possible.
Necrons are at the staves or some other mount.
Tyranids are at the shoulder, or elbow joint depending upon the model.
This has been covered, but you need not just room for a bigger magnet...but room for more surface area for the model to attach to the magnet.
However, I don't magnitize everything....just not worth it.
Things I do magnitize;
Vehicle weapons.
Tau suit weapons.
Terminators at the shoulder.
Special sgts with high detail at the shoulder.
Bikers for special weapons at the shoulder
Attack bikers at the sidecar mount
IG heavy weapon teams (as the tripod)
necron crypteks.
necron overlords (at the shoulder).
necron wraiths (shoulder)
Necron destroyers (shoulder).
Tyranids at the shoulder
darkeldar at the mast (for storage and transport).
Titans at the shoulders for weapons, waist for transport.
Flyers at the base and mount (for storage and transport).
Things I don't bother to magnetize;
grenade guys.
marine heavy weapons guys
flamer/melta/gravgun/plasma tac squad guys.
more mundane sgts.
termagants (some dev gants, most fleshborer).
genestealers.
necron immortals
necron lychguard
necron praetorians (yeah, I know, they are terrible).
Basically, if its either a weapon that is expensive, or has a large investment some other way (i.e. size, or detail level, etc.) I don't want to have extra versions, so I mag them.
