Hello everyone! it's the first tournament for me, but I don't want go with the omnipresent serpent spam!

so I wrote an unusual list with units that imho should work good together! any advice and criticism really appreciated!

qg
1-farseer
2-spiritseer

troops
1-dire avengers 5 on wave serpent: scatter laser, shuriken cannon
2-wraithguards 5 on wave serpent: scatter laser
3-wraithguards 5 on wave serpent: scatter laser
4-jetbikes 3

fast attack
1-swooping hawks 6

heavy
1-dark reapers 5: starshot missile x4, exarch: fast shot, shuriken cannon

tau
qg
1-commander: puretide, multi-spectrum sensor suite, command control node, xvb-02 crisis iridium battlesuit, vectored retro-thrusters, neuroweb system jammer

troops
1-fire warriors 6

elite
1-riptide: ion accelerator, velocity tracker, early warning override

aegis line with icarus

how does it work? (or how should it work?)
tau commander is there to buff the reapers (twin link, ignore cover, tank/monster hunter, hit and run), the farseer buffs riptide and reapers, maybe roll for an offensive power (it depends on what I'm facing). jetbikes and hawks to contest/take objectives. why hawks? no scatter deep strike, large blast ignores cover bomb, shoot and run after landing. they're fragile, haven't the same output damage as spiders, but they can be where they wish, when they wish and still kill some low are infantry.
wraithguards could work as stoppers or go hunt big bad boyz, like riptides, wraithknights and so on... reapers can deal with everything (heavy 2 s5 ap3/heavy 1 s8 ap3), they're behind the line, and the exarch uses icarus (shuriken cannon is there just to avoid 8-point starshot missiles, and yeah, more shots for low armor targets, not bad imho)

with the 60 pts remaining, I have different ideas:

-flamer upgrade for one wraithguards squad -> great stopper unit, can deal with everything gets close to reapers
-vaul's wrath support battery x2 -> guided by farseer, it can deal great damage to infantry and vehicles

so, what are you guys thinking? any advice? :-)

Your list is not all that unusual, but very effective.

With your points, take the support batteries. These benefit from guide OR the crisis commander if you need. The reaper exarch should never take the shuircannon, I would just take starshot missiles.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

I would go with both support batteries, they will do a lot more damage then the 5 flamers which you will use only about 33.3% of the time (at least with my xp).

The reaper exarch could take anything and i believe that the cannon may do you well some strength 6 shots never hurt anyone! (well maybe they will)

but all together a nice list, only thing i would change is in place of riptide maybe broadsides with lots of missiles?

But i like it good luck

thanks both for the reply!

Dr. you're right, he should never take it, but it costs nothing and this is the only way to spare points in that squad (I must take starshot missiles if I don't change weapon), plus he uses the icarus cannon, that's far better than eml or reaper launcher with starshot missiles! but yeah, someone could destroy it...

Arbiter, maybe that's true, but the riptide is too versatile and can't be killed by a single shot like a broadside!

well, thanks I think I'll go with batteries!
