and I think I was cheated

unless saurus warriors really do have a base toughness of 6

how am I supposed to know my enemy unit's stats if your opponent wont let you see their codex to know if they are being honest or not

If you're curious about the stats, I think there is a section on the main rulebook that displays all of the base stats of units.

Don't play anyone that doesn't have their codex.
Don't play anyone that refuses to show you the rule/stat that they're claiming when asked.
Do have copies of all of the FAQs printed or on a device with you (to prevent claims of "oh it was in the FAQ")

This hobbies has a significant percentage of people that'll cheat new players to shore up their self esteem.

partially my fault...I totally forgot my blood knights were 7 strength on the charge with frenzy...

another thing....does poison attacks do wounds on hexwraiths??

I'll admit that I've only played one game against lizardmen in 8th - but I don't think they can take High Magic (unless you mean heavens?) I think Slann used to be able to take from any races specific list 1/2 editions ago but I don't think they can any more.

As for hexwraiths, I'm presuming they are etheriel? - as such poison wouldn't work (unless it was a poisoned magic weapon I guess - venom of the firefly frog springs to mind))

Poison doesn't effect hexies. It is possible to get sauras that toughness with buffs but if he was trying to tell you base he's a dirty cheating ass.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Since Lizardmen can take their own version of High Magic now, your information is out of date.

You won't show the rules and stats? Then no game.

Pack up and leave - and make sure others know about the jerk.

If someone wont show you the rules you can pretty much figure they are cheating. The only to get Saurus Warriors T6 is to use life Magic and cast flesh to stone. They are base 4.

Imperial Gaurd 18,000 Orks 16,000 Marines 21,900
Chaos Marines 7,800 Eldar 4,500 Dark Eldar 3,200
Tau 3,700 Tyranids 7,500 Sisters Of Battle 2,500
Daemons 4,000

That's why I prefer kings of War.
The army lists are in the rule book!
No cheating no rules lawyering, no confusion over badly worded rules.
Just fun game play .

Just fun play, and unwelcome interruptions of other games' threads, huh?

No - not really.

The core rulebook for KoW has almost all of the army lists, so you do not rely on having the other player playing fair. A reasonable observation, and in keeping with a thread of someone who had reason to be disgruntled with a Fantasy player.

And I will interrupt you to point out that your pointing out somebody else's interruption was also an interruption, and most likely just as unwelcome, if not more unwelcome.

There's a whole sub forum dedicated to WHFB, this thread is in general discussion, so a much wider range of topics is fair game.

Fantasy is currently broken beyond repair.
Scrap the entire magic system, get rid of that stupid unbreakable rule and fix the way terrain works and i might just get back into the game -- until then its Warhammer Ancient Battles for me thank you :-)
