I'm done with bits and kits. It's a damn shame, they used to be a reliable bits service and I really enjoyed doing business with them.

I placed an order mid september. Orders usually took 2 weeks, the longest maybe 3 to arrive. Every single order I had made up to this date with bits and kits arrived and was exactly what I had ordered without any error. The order placed in september never arrived. I sent message after message with no response. Finally on Nov 5th I get a response, nearly two months after ordering. The response made no apology for the lack of communication or the fact that the order was never received. The individual said they would look into the situation and come back with a solution. 12 days go by with no further responses and certainly no solution being presented so I call visa and do a chargeback.

I'm done with bits and kits. It's a damn shame, used to be such a great bits service. Terrible to basically non-existent communication is horsegak is a recipe for disaster, it's almost as bad as not receiving what you payed your hard earned for.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

Had some issues with them a while back myself. Some bits swapped in orders, which wasn't insurmountable, but was annoying that there was no communication over it or note of apology.

I'd tried them due to needing some parts that Bitzbox didn't have. Learned a lesson and returned to doing business with Bitzbox, who've given me consistent good service.

I appreciate you sharing your experiences, I'll have to give this bitzbox company a try.

Tried Bits and Kits once, well almost. I placed several items in the basket and then went comparing prices and ultimately decided not to make a purchase.
After a few days I got a sternly worded email from them demanding to know whether I was going to make a purchase or if I was wasting his time. Confused I sent an email asking which items and got a response about 'those in the basket'.
I decided pretty quickly that this wasn't someone I wanted knowing any details of mine so I emptied the basket, apologised and never looked back.

For reference I have used both bitzbox and modelbitz and would recommend both.

15% of my last order is missing, all i've had so far (almost 2 weeks ago) is a message to say "i'll look into it and have a word with my staff".

kind of fed up now, i've placed 4 orders and only one of them was exactly right, but the others were either refunded or replaced quickly.

This though is taking the mik I ordered one of the terradons (complete sprue, not even bits) and the entire model was missing from the box, plus a couple of other parts.

Yes bits and kits.co.uk

Just checked my email dates again and their email to me was this:

Very sorry about this, i will have a word with my staff and sort this out for you asap

On 7 November 2013 09:36,

SEVENTH OF NOVEMBER, i've heard crud all since then. :(

Oh and the delivery note stated that bits were missing from a rat ogre I ordered so they would refund the cost of the ogre, no sign of that either.

I'm let to wonder if the trade changes that GW are now enforcing is going to force them to shut up shop and they are doing a maelstrom games on the way out (now sending me emails for 40% off everything for 24 hours!!) I JUST WANT THE 15% of my order you still own me damn it!!!!

I've had several problems with B&K over the years, some recent ones were when one order was over 6 months overdue, whilst a current one is over a year overdue. He rarely responds via the contact us and rather sparingly uses the email address provided with the contrastingly consistent newsletters.

The only way I have ever gotten contact back was by making another order and putting my concerns in the Comments section. I am currently waiting for a refund in relation to the most recent order issue (the one over a year overdue now) after contact, so I might just resurrect the email thread and try to elicit a response as to the holdup.

Hound him a bit to get onto it and don't give up until you get a refund or similar order sent out. It seems he either has a short memory or has the exceptional ability to straight up ignore anything which doesn't involve him getting money directly in the process.

Nonetheless I have received about 80-90% of orders without issue, but chasing up those ones which never arrive is just a plain pain in the neck.

I must have done about 240$ worth of orders (14 orders) before this order. Thankfully visa did the chargeback. But ya, if the owner of this business ran a walmart, the customer service counter would have no staff and a sign that says "we don't give a gak".

To those whose orders have always been received, well, I guess all I can say is just wait until there's an issue and you need to get in touch with the guy.

I sent him an email early week to his named email address (the one he relplied to me on) warning him that without resolution I would open a paypal dispute today, so I've just done that.

I've asked for a £25 refund to cover the missing / incomplete miniatures AND the Thundertusk I ordered where they have not delivered the "saddle" part I ordered at the same time thus leaving the miniature with a MASSIVE Gaping hole in it's back a few inches across :(.

I guess i'll be using model bits or let the dice decide in future but as I only buy fantasy bits and the stock / range is far worse than 40k in all the bits shops, I probably wont be buying any more bits in future. I used to use horde o bits but the new US postal prices have made that too expensive :(.

To be fair, you have bad luck with everyone.

I stopped using that site some time ago, about 2 years due to him sending out an order and charging me for it...for an order that I had cancelled!!! a full 2 days before he sent it out.

Knowing his supreme lack of communication I've experienced up to that point I sent him a polite formal F'you! email and haven't been back since.

Will say many times I've filled up the shop basket. and then not done the order, never had an email off them to ask/demand that I decide. That's a deal breaker right there.

bitzbox are good, when they have a decent stock up,
model bits
and
letthedicedecide

never had any issues, although LTDD have slipped on the whole email communication side, at least the last time I used them. Taking them a bit longer than they used to. possibly due to B&K's customers using them instead.

You make it sound like folks were saying you were wrong.

Ive used em. They were spot on. Im not going to say otherwise just to match you.

Honestly, recently i've been looking for some bits... even made a thread on it.

This thread is enough to keep me away from bits and kits. If i really, really need bits, i'll wait until Hoard of Bits has them in stock, or i'll just buy the damn sets myself at this rate.

And everyone is so lucky that I'm always so vocal about it

For example: I've sent a chase up email asking for a quick status update on the refund (which was supposed to be four weeks ago) last week, and still there's no response.

Having to spend money to get this guy's attention in the first place is the real kicker here. Please refer to the 6th line of my signature for what may happen if this is not resolved by Christmas.

I would still have rather have had the bits :( but least i'm not out of pocket.
