I was wondering if any of you experienced C:SM folks know of a good buff for the Thunderfire Cannon with a specific new SM Chapter Tactic?
Thanks,

I don't think any of the current Chapter Tactics contribute meaningfully toward improving the Thunderfire Cannon. Take what you want, I guess?

As far as I know, no CTs really help or matter for TFCs. Iron Hands gets you that 6+ fnp, I guess. But, Ultramarines with Tigurius benefits TFCs greatly, because there is very little else that benefits as much as they do from being twin linked every turn as Thunderfire Cannons do.

You don't even need tigerius anymore, you can take inquisitors cheaply for presience.

I think the best chapter tactics for thunderfire cannons are the chapter tactics that best support the rest of your army. The cannons will care more about how the rest of your army functions around them than they will about a petty 6+ FNP.

There is no one Chapter Tactic that causes the TFC to perform any better than the rest of the Chapter Tactics available. I would use the Chapter Tactic that best suits the rest of your army build and play style.

Yes, yes, but Tiggy lets you twin-link a second cannon for one turn with his warlord trait.

I don't know, Ravenguard TFC that scout into or up some ruins or for a nice fat stealthy cover save will be better off then any other tactic IMHO.

Still cheaper to bring a second inqusitor to prescience that one as well.
Sure, you can stack tiggy on top of that for a third and forth one, but how many super-accurate TFC one needs? gotta spend some points elsewhere too.
Anyways. back to topic.
Best tactics, I dont think anyone but iron hands give them anything actually.
So stick with what works for the rest of the army like others said. the TFC is not the focus.
(why bother ravenguard it into cover when it can be out-of-sight? with twin-linking its pretty accurate even with indirect fire.)

Two things to consider, as I disagree 100% about there is no chapter tactics that work well with a TFC, but you may need to approach the idea from a different angle;
1) What chapter tactic, thus what style of army, provides the biggest gap for a TFC to fill. I.e. a flamer-heavy Salamanders army may already have enough anti-infantry.
2) What chapter tactics, thus what style of army, benefits the most from Bolster terrain Drop-pod centric force, unlikely? Lots of (bigger) vehicles, again unlikely.
3) Its a thudd gun. They are amaze balls. Your army now has Chapter Tactics: TFC

The only Chapter tactics that specifically beneficial to thunderfire cannons are Iron hands, 6+ Fnp and the thing that has yet to be pointed out: A techmarine with a servo harness! the new best repairman in the game ( with iron hands tactics) If your thundfire gets plugged and you keep some form of shooty vehicle like a pred or dread in the backfield near it, suddenly he can get back to work and keep that operational instead.
As everyone else already noted don't pick your CT's in regards to one unit, but your army as a whole.

The answer to best chapter tactics is never ravenguard unfortunately.. Unless the question is "which chapter tactics is the best for tricking me into using awful units like assault squads". Generally as others have stated too, go with the tactics that compliments the rest of your army.. If you can get prescience and misfortune you'll really kill the opponent!

I would like to refer you to this battle report good sir: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/562151.page
Reecius uses the Raven Guard CT to good effect against Taudar. It's not exactly glamorous: marines dy in droves. But if you're playing the objectives properly it can be effective.
Scout and Stealth for nearly your whole army first turn can be huge.

Servo skulls through an allied inquisitor can greatly assist the firing of a TFC.
They will drop your deviation ranges from 0"-8" to 0"-2". That's a heck of a big jump -- meaning your first barrage of TFCs will be a lot more accurate.
Of course, servo skulls are easy to counter -- but you might want your opponent to be moving up 6" to remove their effect
As a side note, you can always place one 10" from his back line unit on the side to force him to move his own heavy support elements, removing a turn of their effective shooting.

There are some serious caveats. Realistically, you'll only see this benefit on your first turn, if you go first.
But yes, they are nice.
