Want to do a monster mash themed army for warriors, so Kholek will be a big part of my list.
The biggest issue though is that there is no model for him.
He is a rather large dragon ogre (1.5 times the size of a shaggoth)
So the model will need to be large and imposing.
He also needs to be heavily armoured and have his hammer.

This is one that was made by a studio, but is now OOP and i cant find a seller anywhere:

So thats roughly what im going for.
Needs a large dragon like body but with a human shaped torso, arms and head.

He needs to look large and imposing, so well muscled (puts the giant out of it) so this is where im stuck.

Only ideas i have thus far is using the new carnosaur as the base for the dragon section and then the balrog top half (minus the wings) as the torso.
Will need alot of sculpting though.

So yea, i once again cry out for dakka to help with ideas since im stuck.
Failing that, if anyone is selling the model above, please PM me!

Not big enough.

Try the lower half of a chimera with the top half of a gorgon. Thats the best way to do it on a budget, BUT if you want to do the mountian god justice you need bigger. The forgeworld fire dragon with the bonegrinder giant half. MIGHT be big enough but i doubt it. He is the mountian god.

theres a base now for the body. After that you will have lots of converting to do

The fire dragons front arms are too far forward, which would require cutting them off and moving them back so the torso can be positioned to sit correctly.
Also, the giant is far too thin and the head would need either severe sculpting work, or a whole new head.

Not to mention the fact that it would not fit on any base smaller than a 200x200, which makes gaming with him impossible.

The chimera idea is nice, but the ghorgon body is either too big for it, or the chimera body is too small.
Not to mention having to re-sculpt most of the features on the chimera as its too leonine looking.

The new carnosaur body is alot larger, has the features and the ghorgon body should fit on that pretty damn well actually.
Not sure how the ghorgon model scales up to the balrog one, but both seem pretty decent.

I need him to be large and imposing, but also possible to game with otherwise it makes this pretty much impossible to use.
So im looking at possibly a 100mm x 150mm base at the most (arachnarok spider sixed)

Also, the kholek made by that studio isnt too bad for size.
You can see quite a size difference between him and a basic shaggoth:

He should be on a base that is about 18"x12" he is gigantic

And for gaming purposes, a base that large is too big to do anything with.
Even more so in 3k point games.

As ive said, he needs to be big, but not over the top big.
Things are scaled down for WHFB and 40k.
HPA's are bloody huge and from the book, over 20x a clanrat for size.
Yet stacking them up in models, hes not even 10x the size.
Things need to be scaled down to make them playable.

Shaaroc seems pretty promising!
120mm high seems ok, but i'd have to measure a shaggoth and work it out because i want him a bit bigger.
Other than that its just a head swap and remove the axe for a hammer and add in a bit more armour.

Not bad since theres 2 on ebay for £60!
