I am TO for local turnoument, and I am pondering whenever or not to ban FoR.

What is the general consensus on this issue? Do bid turnouments alow them?

I miself used it in several battles, it was good but not as awesome as it looks on paper, mostly due to lack of fire points on most sections, althou my armies were not very much tailored to it's use (tyranid using it as los-blocker and CSM using as firebase for noisemarines and havocks).

Yes, but you must be able to place it on the board w/o moving any terrain to do so.

Depends on your tournaments terrain rules. Ask them.

Some tournaments here have started using the rulebook terrain method (i.e. place fortifications first, then terrain).

Others allow you to remove a single piece of terrain to place a big fortification like the Skyshield/Bastion.

Personally, I've never seen anyone use the Fortress.

Our tournament allows them as they are an option you you can buy just as you can an ADL. Remember, they are in addition to the normal terrain.

Most TO will preset the tables up and players choose tables to play on. So finding a spot to deploy them on a table may be hard one some of them without moving stuff around to fit them in and position them to best effect. may even be impossible on some tables. if the players in unable to deploy it where they want or in what position they want because of this, that's their fault as they know beforehand that the tables are preset. I faced on in my last tournament and was a nice guy opting for a table that allowed him to set it up as he wanted. A more WAAC player would have taken it into consideration and opted for a table that screwed the guy with it over.
