It's just getting tougher for the boys from fenrys to compete. C:SM have cheaper termies, cheaper equipment and better anti air. I guess I'll just relax.

Too true, had to go FW to get the Helios system - luckily my club has no problems with FW models and rules

Long Fangs and DP grey hunters led by TDA Wolfguard + runepriests still work .... Especially if you block out those pesky enemy psykers with them.. But its starting to get really really boring :(.
Playing around with Special Characters is fun for friendlies but most of them are just utter crap considering their points cost :(. TWC have lost a lot of Punch for me since theres so much ~s6-7 shooting in my meta :(

Really? What sort of list do you run? But I suppose if you just want to run the most WAAC list this would be true.

Huh?
Dude, the termies with power axes for 33 points are much better than the ones with power fists for 40 points. Especially because you can make them scoring.
Its not a highly competitive build, but throwing down 40 scoring terminators, Logan, and 8 CMLs at 1850 is still solidly semi-competitive.

I've run the same DP Grey Hunter/missle spam, rune priests leading that everyone else has and I have had success like we all have, but:
I find flyers make things really hard. So I have to take a 100 pt fortification compulsory.
Or I can find my local IG regiment and see what air support they got laying around.
With that all being said, I find we can still give most lists a run, but you kind of have to stay within the cookie cutter lists. Even tau/eldar/IG mech lists have a rough time against Drop Wolves/ML lists.
I'll quit complaining and wait another year for our shiny new hard back book with pretty pictures.

Space Wolves turn out to perform quite well in the current game. For bigger points - Drop Pod assault with Grey Hunters, lots of Long fangs, and a rune priest.
For smaller points (600 or less): two hunter squads with plasma or melta, two razorbacks, two long fang squads and a Rune Priest. Alpha strike is deadly for a gunline.
The only army that causes problems for SW are Necrons and Daemons.
On the side note: Space Wolves game logic was shifted and competitive SW lists tend to have a lot of models (more than 70 in a 1750 game). Hardly any army has the power to shoot down such large amount of units in a turn. And the most powerful shooting armies, like Tau or Eldar loose when assaulted.
Last week i have played an Apo game vs Necrons. 10 Grey Hunters can't outshoot 25 Necron Warriors. But they can get rid of them in one assault turn.

But sometimes randomness just makes them unstoppable. On the side note: Space Wolves game logic was shifted and competitive SW lists tend to have a lot of models (more than 70 in a 1750 game). Footslogging marines arent really known for their speed on the battlefield :(. I figured as a spacewolf i almost always want to go second.

I'm curious. What flyers is your loganwing having problems with? Helldrakes are a non-issue. The big Tau and Eldar builds don't have any flyers. FMCs are in the daemons book, but bolters hurt them and when give prescience they are hitting 30% of the time. Rune priests are also a thorn in the side to any psyker.
So, seriously, which flyers are giving you problems in your local meta? Do you just happen to have people playing 3+ vendettas every game?

Space Wolves still have Grey Hunters and Longfangs....both VERY effective units for their points cost. Certainly not a Tier 1 competitive army, but they aren't bottom of the barrel either.
