I found some original MKI Land Raider tracks on ebay and added some other bits to piece it back together.

See my build thread here : http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/555119.page

I don't think it was ever fully completed so it's waited for over 20 years to see battle. Completed yesterday. I see a couple of spots that need touch up under the tracks but I am happy with the finished product. I wanted a vehicle that reflected it's age and that had "seen some stuff". I know it probably is not rule-compliant but I don't play at all.

Open to suggestions/questions/etc.

The box of junk on ebay was $40 but it ended up costing me $60 due to a shipping/delivery mishap. I sold off everything in the box except for the two land raider sides/tracks for $50-60 so the actual MK1 part cost nothing.
The rhino bits were about $12-15,
A few plasticard strips and sheets for maybe $10 or less and I have most of it remaining. The armor shrouds for all of the guns are just plasticard.
The newer land raider parts were leftovers from another land raider I did and I cast a few bits like the engine as well.
The rivets are nail-salon rhinestones (2000 count for appx $2 including shipping on ebay.

The total was less than $40. I am extremely cheap

The metallic blue's a thing of beauty. The weathering and battle damage is extremely well-done too.

Very cool, and wouldn't look out of place in a modern 40k army thanks to the subtle conversion and painting. Neat stuff.

The build and the paint job are awesome. The only thing that stand out to me, as a gamer, is the TLHB turret. Unless there is a FW variant out there I'm unaware of, if the sponsons are hurricane bolters, you are rolling with a crusader. That means that the turret should be a pair of assault cannons.

But that's just a mechanics part, nothing against the art part of the hobby.

its so small!! thats one model where the size increase between old and new was so huge you'd think the "old model" rule wouldnt work on it lol.

Totally worth the time involved. Gorgeous model.
