Hey guys I was wondering if you guys have any tips as a Tau player when fighting Space marines. With their 3+ saves and strong fire power they will be a hard opponent. Feedback from you guys would be great.

You have a stronger shooting game than them, shoot them to death and use markerlights to kill their cover saves.

Since we can't know a priori what you opponents list looks like, any tips could or could not be relevant.

Be prepared to sacrifice units to set up kill zones after the resulting HTH.

Make sure you are using good target prioritization. You have limited marker lights, so make sure you are killing exactly what you need to kill. This really depends a lot on how many troops he has vs dangerous killy units. Marine troops pretty much stink, unless they are grav bikers.

Watch out for scouting grav bikers of DOOOOOOM. I don't know if this is really viable but some Kroot bubblewraps for your really juicy units sounds good to me.

Marines still suffer from mediocre to poor firepower per wound fielded. They have some superstar units like the TFC and grav bikers and then a bunch of overcosted BS 4 firepower with little volume.

This. Shoot the grav, which is the only reliable way he's got of killing your Riptides (you ARE using Riptides, right?!).

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Crisis suits with plasma rifles are always a good choice, as are HHs with ICs.
