Okay everyone, so I have a local 1000 point doubles tournament coming up.
As the title explains I'm running Orks.
My partner is running a horde cultist list with abbadon and a heldrake, he has about 90 cultists with mark of tzeentch.
So, I'm running my Orks with:
Ghazgkull
3 mobs of 25 boyz, 2 with nobs and power klaw. 1 mob with shootas
10 stormboys with zagstruk
Basically what i want to know is what you all think?

Ghazzkul is too much on points for 1k i'd rather take a KFF big mek to give both you and your mate a cover save, the stormboyz.. meh tournament wise i would rather go for lootas.
The shoota boyz are top notch.

I agree Gaz is way too many points for a 1k game he is 1/4 of your army. Keep the Stormboyz but boost them up to 20 boyz and swap out Zag for a generic nob with Klaw & BP. They are the fastest unit in the game right now second only to Intercepting Grey Knights but they can't assault after they move.

Big mek with KFF is ok. Biker boss is also pretty good. Try any get those squads of boyz upto 30+ if you can. Ask you mate what he is running and try to plug holes in his list. Orks are generally really good against infantry at range and up close and really average vs Vehicles from range and medicore up close so make sure you mate knows that when he/she builds there list.

i agree you should trade out zag with a nob with PK and get a group of boyz up to 30 i would trade out gaz for a generic warboss or big mek if you go big mek you should get the KFF because it will give your boyz a better save than a 6+

Given what your buddy is taking...... sounds like your home objectives are covered. So I'd look to do what orks do best...... get in the enemy's face! Load up the wagons and go visit dem 'fellers ova dar.....

KFF Mek
2 squads of shoota boyz (in wagons)
2 Wagons w/rollas
Large shoota boyz squad on foot (to control midfield)
Dakkajet

That should be right around 1k. There are a number of options available. I actually LIKE Zags...... very orky... But most likely.... I'd stick to the meat & potatoes.

Needs more Dakkajets IMO, especially if he's running a Heldrake.

Why would you give Cultists the MoT?

Boys are always good, but more shootas would probably be better and I'd rather have them in a battlewagon than walking. PK nob is only good if you run him in the same unit as a warboss, so he can wreck stuff while the warboss handles challenges. Otherwise he's likely to get splatted by a marine sergeant or something before he can achieve anything.

I've never had much luck with Stormboys and I can think of a lot of other things I'd rather have. What other options do you have model-wise?

This list here is still 40 points shy of 1000. You can take some shiny upgrades for Nobz or your Big Meks

Sorry about the lack of posts on here but we won 2 out of 3 of our games and took out best sportsmanship, so we were happy with that.

What did you end up running for your list?
