I am playing a 1500 point doubles battle soon and was going to use this alpha strike/distraction to cover his rather ponderous foot slogging tac/termie/dread list.

the libby will ride with assault marines. I am playing a blob guard and nurgle daemon allied force and I pretty much now their lists.

Well if your playing blob guard then surely you want your furioso with heavy flamer in a pod and you want a full 10 man sternguard in a pod too, so they dam come down and ignore cover all the guardsmen? The stern combat squad so meltas take down grinder and bolter take down guard with special ammo?

Oh, sorry I must have missed the pods le'me fix that.

The problem with hammer and anvil tactics is that if the hammer is not fast enough, the opponent can just wipe out the anvil before the hammer strikes. Taking apart the split forces one piece at a time. If your ally cant reach and support you in time, you will be exceptionally vulnerable.

I suggest grabbing a priest in one of those squads at least. that 5+ FnP can save games man. also, I would suggest taking 2 Specials (you can IIRC) and 1 2 melta squad :3. drop sternguard for more priests and toys/marines :3 unless you use corbulo, then put him in the sternguard and watch insueing hilarity as he tanks the fk outa all str 7 or lower attacks.

Hmm... Seems solid, but I'm not sure if the 5 marines will do enough damage (or withstand it). And take the combi-meltas, they are your only AT and your key to First Blood.

Just two questions:
1) What weapon does the Furioso have? Fragcannon is awesome!
2) What powers does Libby have? If you take them from 'dex, take Fear of Darkness. There's nothing sweeter than seeing those Guardsmen run

Hmm, the only problem is he takes a 40 man blob with a commissar in it. Should I replace 1 assault squad with sniper scouts w/ camo cloaks to snipe the commissar before Fear of Darkness on the blob?
